Anyone here running 50+ bots?
well if you were you probably wouldn't say publicly. Feel free to pm me, maybe we can exchange knowledge.
Thinking about ordering parts for a computer(s) that can run 40-50 bots smoothly in the near future.
2 builds that I'm contemplating:
Build #1)
- dual xeon e5-2620 (2.0 ghz), 6 core cpu. $400x2 = $800
- supermicro barebones server $800
- 250gb SSD $150 (I may need 1TB of space actually)
- 64 gb ECC ram $500
- 3x radeon 6950 $600
Total cost about $3000 after tax.
Will be running windows server 2008 r2, remotefx,
Problem with this build is that I don't think the case can fit 3 cards, even though it has 3 pci-e slots: Newegg.com - SUPERMICRO SYS-7037A-I Mid-Tower Server Barebone Dual LGA 2011 Intel C602 DDR3 1600/1333/1066/800
Also, i think remotefx can only support 12 virtual machines per GPU, not sure how that works.
Build #2)
2 computers,
3930k (3.8 ghz) 6 core = $500
mobo = $150
120gb SSD = $100
32 GB ram = $130
radeon 6950 = $200
psu = $50
case = $50
Total cost approx $1300 x 2 = $2600
If I go with this build I'd be running vmware on win 7, it could probably run 15-20 bots each.Last edited by declensionsone; 27.09.2012 at 10:58.

after all the xeon e5-2620 isn't overclockable.
hex core 2.0gz vs hex core 3.8 ghz..Last edited by declensionsone; 26.09.2012 at 02:56.

I think you should be fine on any of those. I'd go with the all in one system. in case you get banned you won't have a second system just sitting there doing nothing

dunno, any that's under $200 and works.
I'd prefer to have one system instead of two, less power, heat.. takes up less spaceLast edited by declensionsone; 21.09.2012 at 20:11.

Just eyeballing those systems, I don't think you will be able to run 50 bots.

why not? one 3930k system can run 25-30 bots in isboxer or some other multiboxing program, though that's the fastest way to get banned.
edit: i guess there is no such thing as dual 3930k in one system.Last edited by declensionsone; 21.09.2012 at 20:12.

would dual xeon E5620, 4 core 8 threads (overclocked to 4.0 ghz)
be better than
dual xeon E5-2620, 6 core 12 threads (2.0 ghz, cannot be overclocked, or not much)
since I'm not after high FPS gaming, the E5-2620 should theoretically perform the same or better?Last edited by declensionsone; 22.09.2012 at 07:59.
