      Hi!
I recently found a command in WoW, which has proven to be very usefull to me!
FPS means 'Frames Per Second', and it is a unit used when describing how often the game refreshes the screen. If you have a FPS of 1, WoW will only refresh the picture once every second, which - logically - is less work your computer needs to do than if your FPS was 50.

This command allows you to set a maximum FPS for WoW, when it is running in the background - without affecting your FPS while your focus is on the WoW window, thereby not affecting your normal gameplay.

      What to do:
Simply just type the following in a normal WoW chat:
      Code:
      /console maxfpsbk <X>
With <X> being your desired maximum FPS while running wow in the background!
What I am currently using is:
      Code:
      /console maxfpsbk 10
Whenever I have my WoW in focus, my CPU usage is ~80%, but whenever I switch to another window, it goes down to ~30%!

NOTE: This may reduce your bot's performance, though it has not in my case

Should you want to UNDO this, simply type in the following:
      Code:
      /console maxfpsbk 0
This will bring it back to default!

I hope this post has been of use to you! If it has, feel free to show your appreciation through a comment or by using the grey star to the left, below my name.

NOTE: It is also possible to limit your FPS while having WoW in focus. Should you want to do so, use the following command:
      Code:
      /console maxfps <X>

U do realise that many custom CC's require a minimum framerate of 25 FPS to function properly.
Setting it to 10 (when not in focus) can greatly decrease the CC's performance (and your levelling speed).
And some CC's will likely hardly function at all.

Reducing CPU is one thing, clipping the bot a second ;)
Just a point of advice (if you get odd results when doing this).

If that's the case, the CCs should be rewritten. CCs relying on Thread.Sleep too much need to rethink their strategy.

I don't see how decreasing frame rates hurt's a cc, wow is designed to frame skip to 30 fps when you go below 15. This is why you don't move incredibly slow when your fps is low, it's just really jumpy. (Unless of course you have a really crappy computer, and you freeze during the framerates)

If you want to experience fps lag without frame-skip, play a underdeveloped emulator.

Regardless of your idea about how a CC should be written (I tried and failed so I leave it up to those that can)...
Or the odd reasons to love somebody (everyone his poison of choice)...

I'm just relaying the stats on some of the current CC's.
To function optimal they require a fps of 25.

And since OP now mentioned GB instead of HB, this is not an issue with his post as GB currently stands alone and doesn't use a CC.
      Thanks, Liquid.

afaik they stated that the fps problem has something to do with the click to move. So that CC's with many movements (mostly melee cc's)

      just as info

Well, I think it's time for me to throw in my two cents. What about those of us that use Gatherbuddy? We don't need that silly fps. =)

Get a dual-core they are cheap. Simple , then you spend $35 for a half decent hd4550 card with minimum 2gb ram and your frames wont suck .. this is what i use on my botting pc .. as a matter of fact i use a eMachine T5254 with windows 7 ultimate , i dont hinder my fps much 40 in background 80 in full screen , i also use the hd4550 card

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102819 <-- ur new card awaits

I have had the task manager up whilst running this bot and wow on screen takes up 22% of my cpu, I minimized wow and saw it only took 1-2% of my cpu up. The bot carried on running fine getting 50k xp per hour, which is what it was getting full screen.

Obviously this tip is not for those you mentioned because 1) they can afford that kind of monster rig 2) they can afford and are wiling to pay for energy it consumes. Even if you have such a machine it is still beneficial becaus you could probably double instances of wow you are running while still be perfectly able to use your computer.

An old tip, but a good one - I second that request to bump it up - if you didn't already know about this console command, it could save you some pain.
