I don't have much programming experience, just some COBOL classes from college (10 years ago) so I do understand the basics. I want to contribute to the community and I have an idea for a prospecting plugin.

Any help, pointers or guides are appreciated. Thanks.

I managed to resolve the errors I was getting. Can anyone take a look and let me know if this will work?

It's currently untested but I would appreciate any feedback.

      Thanks.

Ok, it's working. I'm going to post it in the plugin section.

Thanks for all the feedback ...

How did you get started on this plugin?

I was looking for some documentation to help me get started but I couldn't really find anything other than someone talking about reading the API and/or looking at a working plugin. That would be fine but I guess I was hoping for something a little more informative so I do not waste too much time with simple mistakes that could easily be avoided with a little advice from someone with experience. (If it makes a difference, I am comfortable writing in C#.)

Just wondered what you did to get something up and running so quickly. Thanks a lot for the plugin by the way. I will give it a shot. Have a good one.

I basically took an existing plugin and changed some code to make it work with a different tradeskill and it was a pretty basic plugin to begin with.

My advice would be to contact one of the devs of an existing plugin (maybe one that's currently out of date) and ask if you can help work on it or update it. I find it easier to work with someone when learning, at least at first to get started.
