I tried to do this last night without much success. The bot would face the wrong direction when in melee combat, struggled to get past hillock. I have downloaded the required questbot and EXtensions and have them enabled.

I completely understand this bot is a WIP, and ofc I am prepared to babysit my bot and fiddle with settings to optimize, just looking for a little guidance/recommendations on botting from a fresh level 1. E.g recommended melee settings, smoothest leveling skills to use etc.

I am thinking with the current melee logic, it may be better to go for a spark totem build until the bot or similar.

      Suggestions and discussion welcome

Have you played PoE by hand though each of the difficulties yet? What about as a melee character?

With QuestBot, you still have to assign your skills, equip better gear and stuff, but it's almost flawless when progressing from level 1. I myself have ran numerous characters to 6X with very little intervention, but I am extremely familiar with the game.

I think instead, you should consider making a Witch, choose lighting or cold based skills (Arc is really strong) and give that a go instead of melee. Or, a Ranger and try something like Blast Rain when you get it, then Lightning Arrow before that.

If you insist on Melee, you want to focus on having AoE skills, like Cleave, or Ground Slam early on, as you'll level too slow if you just stick with single target skills. There's a lot of options to choose from though, but you'll want to talk to others for some better ideas for the melee route.

      Hi Pushedx,

Thanks for your response. I have played POE since closed beta, very familiar with the game. I also used the previous versions of EB before the revamp to some degree's of success. My intention for a melee build was to stack life for survivability.

I will give a witch a red hot go tonight with the spells you recommended. :)

It all depends on the skill to be honest.
What were you trying to make?

something tough, but in reality I am just going to make whatever works with the bot the best. I am going to try an arc witch.

Haha gotcha, always seems like fun but sucks when it doesn't work but simple usually is better and just respec later for the more complicated builds. arc should run pretty well, spark also is still doing pretty well I hear.

      Best of luck to you

I also advice you to use this plugin: EquipPlugin.
It equip your toon while it level and quest, rising survival chance by 1000% and if well configured, it can equip my toons better than me with wath he found.

Also i use this plugin: GemLevelerPro .
It level all the gems you equip without the need to set them in the plugin settings, just turn on Autolevel and set the blacklist for gems you don't want to level
(you can even set a level they should reach, Ex: "Cast when Damage Taken Support,3" will level that gem till lev. 3 then stop).

      Not to mention: Alcor75PlayerMover.
A must have plugin that use skills to move, like "Shield Charge", "Blink Arrow" ecc. ecc.

All those plugins work wery well with QuestBot, and make your bot experience a really enjoyable one :)

      Hope this help.
