Is there a way to make a plugin where HB will temporarily pause when another player is near? Continuing fighting a current target would be good and then pause when that target dies. After said player leaves, the bot would resume normal play.
What happens when someone sets follow on you? Or you happen to use a flight path, land, and theres people there. You would just sit there and do nothing until everyone leaves which could take hours. What if another mob attacks you when your paused? This request, in my opinion is silly and should not be pursued.
If someone is following me, I certainly don't want the bot doing its thing. I've never used flight paths using the bot, so that's a non-issue. I just want it to pause while grinding if other players approach. If another mob attacks, it could have a setting to attack back or simply die (I'd rather it just die). Let it rez when the player is no longer sitting there watching. It would be a very handy protection option for when grinding afk. Bot in front of others who are suspicious = report. Stop botting = less likely to be reported. If you think it's silly or not for you then don't use it - the beauty of optional plugins! =) I'm sure there are plenty that would though. I'd rather have a slower, but safer afk grind then a faster, yet risky one.
I have yet to see anyone else post on this thread stating that is a good idea. For instance, your in scholozar basin, and your attacking a cheeta that happens to be near the Nesingwary Basin Camp. Another person comes along and sits on the outskirts because his pizza just got to his house, so he eats the pizza, leaving his toon near yours, causing you to sit there for 45+ minutes for no reason. Theres to many things along that line that could very easily happen, thus the creators of the plug-ins will not want to bother using the plug-in, therefore not create it.
It's amazing you've been elected to speak on the behalf of the community. If namaze doesn't like it, by god it shouldn't be around. Makes perfect sense to me! EDIT: Oh yea, and I've seen features similar to this request built into the core functionality of several popular bots. If the developers of those spent time working on it, I hardly think it went unused. Just sayin
I am a former glider user and I ALWAYS used the pause when players were around. There was even a choice to pause for opposing only or same faction only. I didn't have it going to repair or anything where people would be around though. I just had it running laps around a camp usually and if someone came by within X number yards it stopped so I wouldn't get caught on anything and have to pretend I was drunk. It was a great feature and I had NEVER experience a ban while using glider for almost 2 years.
I think this is a great idea. But instead of stopping everything I would rather have it simply stop grinding. Maybe if there's a player within x yards it'll stop grinding and head to repair/mail prematurely. Still I support this idea and would certainly use it.
Didn't Glider have something similar to this? I can;t remember it's been so long ago. But, if my memory serves me correct than yeah it's a pretty good idea and namaze is a bit silly. And if I'm wrong, I guess I'm silly. But oh well!
this was a main feature in glider and a good one. I was followed by a paladin last night while quest botting in westfall. He was a level 30 and I noticed him and asked why he was following me. He said he thought I was a bot. of course I said WHAT? even then he stayed around for a while. I am just glad I didn't have a mount then or I would have been reported. The pathing on roads is a sure sign of botting since he gets stuck on every sign and fence on a road while riding. I don't even do that drunk
I could easily add this into my red alert plugin. I'll look into doing so momentarily. It won't stop just cause a player walks by either. It will only stop if they sit around for a certain amount of time. Stopping because someones running by is a waste. edit: Almost done with this. edit2: testing now.
This idea is now available in this plugin. http://www.buddyforum.de/showthread...ert-plugin.-It-plays-sounds-on-certain-events.
I agree Totally agree.. i liked that function in Glider and should be the easiest thing to implement.. Being followed and discovered after 3min botting or simply not doing anything, i sure choose the later. If some1 put follow on me he sure does it to see if im a bot, right? never heard about some1 being reported for not doing anything, Glider had an option for how many minutes, after being followed, to stop.
If that's the case, then why would you bother with Warden protection, or Red Alert plugin, pathing, etc, etc? I'm willing to risk botting, but if it can be made safer - why not? Obviously others agree with the idea ;-)
