So, this was actually the proposal of someone in one of the downtime threads in the last day or two, but I can't find where/who it was. Anyway, kudos to that guy. I'm hoping we can rally enough support to get Bossland to eventually add a "Status" button to the website. Maybe even something that could be coded to widgets on smart phones/website addons similar to the WoW Realm Status buttons. This would give us all a very quick and easy way of knowing when the bot goes down as well as when a working version has been posted. Thoughts?

I think its a great idea, i dont care about how long the bot is down, and accept that there is time needed to fix stuff, but currently I have the feeling that there is no official thread where I can look into, to check the status, it seems that one of the team has to open up a new thread evrytiem - I might also just not know about it, but id definitely love to see a red/green light on https://www.thebuddyforum.com/ in the upper left corner or something like that .

Exactly. Then if the green light is up, you simply click on it and it takes you to the latest release thread. It seems like a simple feat for the professional coders at Bossland. Hopefully the idea will at least get a response :D

Yeah. Like you said, I think this important they know we understand it takes time for them to release updates and appreciate it. However, this would be a great feature. :)

There would be far less trolling and less nasty remarks if people were not just hanging around on the forums waiting for something to happen. I think a status button is a great idea for many reasons!

Yeah, people would not have to make 20+ threads about bot working or not :D

It'll still be buried in a post somewhere.... A big status light would make sure people wouldn't have to click anything at all. Just a big red dot saying "yeah, it's down, we know" changing to orange "We've got a beta version up, go download and test" to a tiny green one saying "All is well".

Forum posts are business as usual. They don't stand out even if they were sticky. You need something that's outside of normal operations to really grab someones attention.

That's exactly what "stand out" means, they could put an icon next to the thread title being a big red/orange/green circle for instance with the current information about it.

I like this idea, and I'm sure the forum leaders could find a way to implement it after seeing all of the graphics and animation that is currently included at the top of these forums. Perhaps a GREEN button for a fully working release, a YELLOW button for a test release, and a RED button for no functional/working release at that time. The color of the button could be switched by a dev depending on the status of the bot.
