Hi lads, I got a chance to join a really good PVE guild but one of their main rules is that botting is not alowed. Do you think i should just decrease the effectivity of my CR or just dont do it at all since it's my main account. I'm just wondering how they would notice it, it could be possible that im just a pro right?
You do realize that botting isn't allowed OVERALL in WoW? How would they know you're botting? How would they notice? You auto-interrupt too quickly, you do similar actions based on situation, your rotation never changes etc. Recount/Skadda/Guild logs (such as guildprogress.com) track these type of things and are used by "high-end" guilds to manage, manipulate and "tweak" rotation. Will they be able to tell? If you use the default setup, possibly. If you use a modified version, probably not.
I was in a casual guild and they smelled a rat with my perfect DPS ....they didn't come right out and call me a botter but they made a few snide comments about how they don't appreciate botter's over vent and didn't want me back on casual raids so I moved on and usually only use raid finder etc. If they are smart enough they can see you bot I'm pretty sure. my 2 cents
Oke thanks guys, i forgot about the raidlogs, thanks for that. Im just gonna take the chance and tweak my CR as much as i can, if they find out and report me that's just a bummer then. Thanks for the input
thats the stupidest shit i've ever heard. bot on, my friends and I do the same DPS with and without our bots, we know our rotations well, the bots just for convenience, no one would know the difference.
I'm a pretty high end raider, and a lot of this is thanks to crs I parse highly using various crs and my guild just consider me a really good player. Compare my logs to any other good player in my guild and they look the same. Bot on my friend.
I've been in like 5 guilds. Never high end raiding but heroic (before mythic) later on in the patch. And after a while I end up slipping when I get to close and let them know I bot on some fights. They have never cared really and I would say in every guild about 10 of the 25 would also come out as botters. They loved us. We carried DPS, We got mats, Made food and got stuff for the guild. Some would leave when we where not kicked. But most stayed and I have good friends now who still do not bot and know I bot. Also in my first guild using Shamwow with lazyraider in like 2010 we got HB like 30 customers from the guild.
Why join a guild that cares about silly things like the manner in which they get their loot. Most people only care that they are getting loot, not how they do it. Find a guild with normal people.
yeah honestly if I was a guild leader id rather have a 10-20m full of dps/healing bots I mean perfect rotation aint nothing to complain about my guild doesn't know but they don't complain about my dps either
Someone with a sharp enough eye can tell. (usually botters themselves) Just be sure you have auto face and move off. LOF + 1ms 90 degree turn = obvious bot

Guess they don't want someone on their team who can suddenly be banned and disappear because of botting, wasting all those fat epics. We know simply using CRs is unlikely to get you axed, but they don't.
No shit? I'm on the same server. XD I can actually vouch for ya. Proudmmore US is full of assholes. Found a good guild and stuck with it ever since.
I mean you asked this here so obviously you are looking for opinion based answers to support you in your decision. I appreciate that. My take on this is that if they know enough to make a rule like that and make it a blanket policy it means one or all of a few things. They raid on days when patches will/may drop (yes a patch can be anyday as we well found out recently). They have been directly affected by people using rotation bots or combat routines. They bot themselves, but are against it due to personal beliefs about raid achievement. (We have to respect this for the same reason we respect Arenas, dismissing their ideas because so many of us do PvE instead of PvP is ridiculous on many levels) - Not saying it is the case just one of the reasons. I would say without a doubt people intelligent enough to raid high end content effectively and long term who make a rule like this are familiar with at least 2 of 3 things I listed. We could make the list longer, but there is no need. I would be extremely cautious if I were you. OI personally would settle for a less strict guild, but ultimately botting is against the ToS right? if you have the money and time here is my second recommendation. Make another account on the same battlenet. Move your character to it and raid harcore and kick their ass in dps with your routine If the worst happens at least you aren't completely lost.
