Most of our accounts and IPs are flagged of course for "closer" inspection after the HB back up and running. Those that linked accounts to their battlenet for hierlooms and mounts etc have a big flag on them already for investigations. Same I guess with IPs unless you can get a new one from ISP.

On a personal note...wish you wouldn't bring back the battleground bot... farming ones, lvling ones, garrison ones...fine. But battlegrounds ideally enyo rotiations only coz right now random battlegrounds are actually fun without afk bg bots everywhere... but thats just me being selfish i guess (though with ashran you gear in a day so farming honor??? farming mats etc surely better use of time...)

 

He means that since they are clueless as to the means of detection releasing the bot is at best a stab in the dark

What will be the point of using honorbuddy. They have no clue how they got detected they are on blizzards shit list, might as well go put your money in the toilet and flush it.


Don't get me wrong I love honorbuddy and i hope you guys come back with a vengeance and find a way to by pass blizzards detection and just make them beg you to take it easy on them!!
In the meanest possible ways i hope honorbuddy finds a way to destroy blizzard

But for now using honorbuddy would be throwing money away for me.

Well, if the current version of HB is still detectable, I hope that additional logging is turned on for HB so maybe they can detect the new method of detection. I would be interested in things like a process renamer, a custom compile of HB (resulting in a unique hash if scanned), and possibly a 64-bit version so that monitoring all processes modifying memory require more resources and hopefully more time to scan for HB (and possibly creating unacceptable overhead to regular WoW players that the resource consumption is prohibitive )

 

There is one aspect of botting detection that I havent seen discussed or mention on any thread that ive read. Server side detection has normally been addressed as it relates to afk bots using and repeating the same pathing on the world map. Then with search algorithm they can conclude with a high degree of accuracy whether it is a human or a bot at the helm. However it is possible that blizz is also using server side detection to catch "super efficcient" combat routines. Think about a 15 min raid encounter where a bot is casting spells right at the GCD availability for extended period of time. Im sure blizzard has access to their own server side combat logs.

 

They may have that access, but considering how much data of that type is being generated at any given moment, I wonder if they have the computer to effectively track it.

 

Actually, I wonder if that may not be what they did... there was mention from some report that they only banned if botting between April 29th and May 7th. If they took all that data and gave it to a cloud computer provider and had them parse the logs, it might take a week of crunching, resulting in a ban on the 13th. It is feasible that it was logged data...

 

Like someone said earlier blizz is a multimillion dollar company so that if they "want" to detect a bot they will expend whatever resource necessary to do so. One way to look at it a question from them gauging and measuring their desire to ban the user as opposed to shutting down the bot maker

 

then other bots and 64bits scripts would have been hit aswell. but no only HB users was hit.

 

Not if they were specifically targeting HB. Remember that HB is by far the biggest botmaker and also is in court with blizz so they have the highest profile of any bot. Shutting down HB will send a strong message that will resonate throughout the botting community.

 

Please, for the sake of simple common sense, give us a x64 version of HB. We should be taking every step possible to hide ourselves amongst the 80%+ x64 users (90%+ in Europe). I know that the DEV's have said they won't consider it, but even an old fart like myself can see that we're going to stand out like a nun in a brothel if we stick to x86.

 

And I have such fond memories of that nun too. Great days.

 

You really doesn´t know single thing about bots detection, yet you are trying to give advices... x64 will not save use! How many times it must be written?
