I have been using Hearthbuddy since 2014, almost since its initial release.

I have been using it almost every day for farming wins for all classes (all of them gold within 3 months of use) and since then to farm my daily 30 wins.

I bought a lifetime subscription from the start considering at the time that the cost wasn't much. It was worth it even if the recent change stunk a bit.

But since the initial release and because of the low cost my expectations were pretty low from it.
My only major concern was to be safe when using it so as not to get banned for it. And it proved to be so, so far.

I didn't have any other demand from it since it did what I paid for (played games automatic and won some of them to meet my needs).
But the game has changed a lot and the bot hasn't. Let me explain what I mean. The bot has reached its recent state at least a year ago if not more. There hasn’t been any major improvement since the implementation of Silverfish as its AI (which was made by a community member and the devs got it from him), and the change of the UI at its recent state.

Since then though I have realized that there haven’t been almost any improvements to the AI even when the game introduced new strategies so as to be able to play them correct or at least when they would trigger (like the “When there are no copies in your deck…” cards).
The devs have made tremendous efforts to keep the bot safe and protect its users but since they changed the cost of the bot I believe its time to also change the bot more.
If you want to charge on a constant base for this product then it should also have a constant development. NOT just update it every time Blizzard patches Hearthstone to make it work with the new version. Because that is what I feel has been happening for the last 1 maybe 2 years.

Here I have to recognize that Blizzard seems lately to be making patches just in order to be able to stop or catch the bot and it must have been very, very frustrating to keep up to all the constant patches without risking your clients, and Kudos to the devs for that.
Back to Hearthbuddy though, I feel it is time for it to evolve. It has to and it should in order to keep being useful and worth its upkeep-cost.
I feel that you created the bases for a great product but at some point stopped evolving it and just focused on keeping it functional. And as long it was a one off payment it was ok but since now you changed that, repeating payments should mean evolving too and not just functionality.

So my suggestions on things I would like to see in addition to its already steady update to each current patch of Hearthstone are:

A UI interface in order to make the creation of mulligan rules for each deck I use. I know the basic functions are already in Hearthbuddy, it only lacks a UI interface for it, so as every user can make her/his own rules and not only people with programming knowledge. Making rules in a text environment is a pain in the ass if you haven’t done it before, while some very basic UI can make it so as everybody can make them and possibly share them with the community. So being able to make several sets of rules for use with different decks i use would be amazing.

Another major issue that it’s starting to affect security of the bot is the ability to change some basic parameters of its function. At its current state it kind of has a stand out way of working. Experienced players can spot a bot and report its user because the way it works is always the same. Of course blizzard can’t detect it but other players can. So in order to diminish that chance I was thinking of:

A feature that can be controlled and set by the user, that for example (every 3-4 time it makes a move that can have multiple targets mocks changing targets between them for 1-2 or more seconds before doing its move) that way it resembles more player-like behavior and even gives the feeling of BM to the other player.

Another is to be able to set to use emotes in certain conditions and not just at start. Like using a “THREAT” before conceding a lost game, which is something most players do. Or even using the “Amazing” when the opponent wipes the board or does over a certain amount of damage, you get my point there.

Also being able to change the way it plays its moves. Like of course it needs to complete its moves before time runs out for each turn, but it doesn’t have to make every move within 2-3 seconds of each other. It could take 5-10 seconds to me the first one another 10-15 for the next and another 5 for the last one. Or if its only 1 move available don’t play it right away but after like 20-35 seconds or even better let the user be able to fix it or set the parameters within it randomly occurs.

Lastly ofc we need more improvements to the AI.

If we get these kind of changes – improvements the bot is going to be almost bulletproof because other players wont be able to spot it as they can now, at most they are going to think they have a very stupid or bad player against them and not a bot, so reporting would be minimized.
Anyway I will be renewing my subscription to hearthbuddy because I really like it and want it but from now I have also more expectations from it.

      Please consider my suggestions.

Well i didn't know about the visual mulligan tool which will be handy and thx for that.

I also didn't know about the return of otisright which is great.

But the main points where improvements to behaviour of Hearthbuddy while playing and not winrate or false moves.

The point is what can be done to make it behave as if its a player and seem to be thinking - BMing - threatening and randomizing its moves timewize in a way that we as users can personalize that and so don't make it so detectable.

When you play a bot you realise its a bot most of the times just by the way it moves. (move every 2-3 sec, target its target for 1-2 sec etc)

It never switches targets as if thinking about it.

      Its pace is steady.

It never emotes out of anger or joy.

That is the stuff i was talking about.

      Hope you see that.

Politely, I think 0 bans since 2014 should indicate the quality of the bot.

As other's have pointed out, there are some plug-ins and tools you can use to optimize your experience past the initial-default configuration.

I guess it is kinda lame the AI that the bot ships with is questionable in Arena's. But I think the purpose of the bot, at least for me, is less to farm Arena's and more to complete daily quests and build up your decks.

100% Agree: The bot could use some improvements to make it more "human".
100% Agree: Default AI isn't that great. They should really just ship with with the files from "Project Legend by Otis Right"

Disagree about effectiveness of bot: The bot is more powerful if you get your hands dirty. Looks for HSB-Toolbox.
Disagree about needing more "human" features: The ban section seems to indicate a pretty safe bot.

      Good luck,
