Since i am unable to post in the guide section i posted here. This is my first guide seeing as ive only used honorbuddy for about a week now, but I was unable to find a good guide on how to level with recruit a friend, via questing, not running dungeons, which I personally distrust. In order for this to work you will need two two copies of wow (duh) and either one (if you want to control the main) or two (for mostly automated leveling). They will need to be linked with recruit a friend. In this guide we will refer to the older account as the VETERAN account, and the new account that was recruited as the NEWBIE account. Setting up the veteran account 1. Any heirlooms you have you will want on this character. They will be assisting (thus not getting quest xp) so any bonus xp they get the better. 2. Set your profile to partybot. 3. Under plugins select Anti Drown, and Talented 2 4. Load a blank profile (you can find one on this site) 5. Disable flight paths Setting up the Newbie Account (This account will be your leader.) 1. Make sure this account is the party leader 2. Download kicks leveling profiles. 3. Set the profile to questing 4. Under plugins select any you would like, but LeaderPlugin is required. 5. Disbale flight paths Assuming that everything is setup correctly, you should be able to start both sessions, and your newbie account will be the leader. The newbie will go on its was questing as it would on solo. Your veteran account will tag along and assist the newbie account by healing/dpsing etc. Now your newbie account will be getting a lot more xp than your veteran account because only the newbie will be getting the quest xp. The way you get around this is by granting levels. Since you can grant your veteran character one level for two your newbie levels you should be able to keep up. If for some reason you are unable to keep up switch roles (simply switch configurations) until you?ve leveled enough to catch up. Anyway like I said this is my first week with hb and my first guide so I hope this helps someone out.
Have you tried a 1-80 leveling with this method(by granting lvl)? If yes how long it took you and how many heirloom pieces were you wearing?
No i havent. I started today with a my veteran account wearing the buyable heirloom pieces, and my newbie character wearing none. They are leveling at a great pace, though im kinda worried that my veteran wont be able to keep up, even with heirlooms. The main reason i started this was that i wanted a way to quickly level without using dungeons, and having two different characters on two different realms, i am able to level my veteran that is on a pvp realm, on a pve realm without dealing with any of the crz ganking bs. As an added bonus once i hit 55 i will unlock 2 dks, giving me a presence on two different realms.
Nice work on a guide, but there has been a lot of discussions here already on this and you may want to add "Jamba" addon to your system as this will assist with mirroring your questing. See more info at bottom of this thread http://www.thebuddyforum.com/honorbuddy-forum/101911-make-bot-share-quest.html
Never heard of jamba before. WHile checking it out i noticed this. Automatically complete quests with no choice of rewards. How will this work with the two accounts? I just worry that the first couple quests in a questline will get done, and none of the others will. Checking it out now.
Jamba is a "WOW" addon - not sure this all needs to be tested and I'll be looking at it shortly. I'm hoping that while running HB that autoequip will still be able to choose reward.
Ok so i tried messing with jamba, and it kept pissing me off, its a pretty indepth addon, so maybe someone with som expertise will be able to get it working. Ran into a slight problem today, apparently i cant grant levels xrealm, so im gonna have to switch back and forth every 3-5 levels to even out the leveling, not a big deal but kinda pita.
I know it might not be ideal but just level two sets of toons on each server so you get the exp boost. And what problems are you having with jamba, I have used it for multixboxing so I might be able to help with the little knowledge I have of it.
Well i was getting a follow error every 1/2 second for one. Other than that no real problems, i just need to put the time to learn the addon, its not exactly user friendly right out of the box. Im currently reading through the source material and will try to get it working, it just seems that jamba will make it mandatory to watch over your bots considering that it wont trade in all quests on its own. Edit: Also the reason that im using two different realms is the pvp aspect. So far it has been a nightmare for me leveling on a pvp realm on one of my other chars, so i make a fresh toon on a pve realm that xrealm invites my pvp server toon. This way i can level (to 80 at least) in peace.
If you go into the team section and find follow there is a box you can uncheck so it will not send messages anymore. This is for use with multiboxing so it is not designed for you to be afk it is just a way of sharing quests and being able to monitor them from your main screen. It does have some cool stuff for you to use if you were multiboxing.
Not that i know of. From my experience so far though, kick profiles are not afkable anyway. Seems once an hour or less ill just freeze (randomly stopping between quests), or get caught on something.
