With Blizz now issuing 6 month suspensions instead of a straight up ban, has anyone tried getting an account reinstated that was banned over 6 months ago? I lost my main account nearly 15 months ago now and I'm wondering if it may be worth trying to get reinstated now with the new policy in place. Anyone tried?
How do you know it's a new policy? They can be banning for different reasons. They will not retroactively change permanent bans.
Thanks for your thoughts, but that's not what I asked. And go check the ban forums, every single one in the past week has been a 6-month suspension, no perma-bans. And how exactly do you know they won't retroactively change their policies? Did you actually try to get an account reinstated and get denied?
I'd wait until a while after this wave of bans to try to get that account unbanned. You don't want to give them the idea that you know they are giving reduced bans for botting.
If you were banned permanently, they did a thorough investigation to come to that conclusion, and they aren't going to go back and change it to 6 months for the same reason they aren't going to change the 6 month bans to anything shorter.
Its worth a shot. Give it a few weeks and ask. Just say you were talking to people and found out that they were giving 6month bans instead of lifetime bans and if there would be anyway to reinstate old banned accounts to just 6 months, even if it has to be another 6 months its still something that would be nice.
Who sais the 6months banns are instead of the perma banns? It could also be that the 72h bann is the 6month bann...
i got a 6month ban and it said at the end of the 6months my account will be reactivated. then he said if it happens again don't expect them to be so lenient.
It appears they "removed" the 72 hour ban, and added the 6 month ban instead. There are reports, and I personally know one Person, who got a perma ban during the last 4 days. But no one got a 72 hour ban, and no one seems to have had success with their appeals. They all remain 6 month or perma.
I tried it yesterday on the account that got banned in the pqr wave, asking for them to over turn it and issue me with a 6 month ban. They just told me no and the ban stands.
blizzard still uses perma bans, 6 months did not replace perma. they now use: 48h (only had this once) 72h (always get this after a succesfull appeal) 6 month bans, (garrison or cr related) perma bans. other shit. i have had a perma ban in the last few days. so they still use that
