I have been using VirtualBox on a Linux host, and it was really easy to set up. But VirtualBox has terrible 3D performance, so I'm redoing it with Windows 8.1 Pro host with VMWare, as it's supposed to have much better 3D support.
Though. using Windows 8.1 and VMWare requires a lot more piracy, as VMWare is not free either :)
I highly recommend it though, as unless you have very advanced tools (which Blizzard does, especially if you opt-in for the hardware survery!), you just see MAC from VM and normal IP.
Host PC: i7-2600K (stable at 4.4GHz ez, stock atm tho), 16GB 1600MHz, AMD HD 6570 1GB
      VMs: 2 Cores, 2GB RAM and 256MB

VM's do not make botting safer in any way and we do not support virtual machines too.
There are only very very limited situations where it could make sense to use VM's and all of those are not related to safety or detection.

yea I used VM's from the start but found out its pointless now I run 10 accounts on the same IP haven't had a issue at all.

The reason I do it is simply to make it look like multiple computers on the same network. May be excessive security, but my host has plenty of power to spare. Going to host Minecraft, CS:GO, Torrent/FTP server etc as well.
If you understand your hardware well, you can set it up very efficiently.
While it may be excessive, I also like the flexibility you get with managing multiple computers within a host. If one Windows installation should get corrupt, I can snapshot back to an earlier version or reinstall the whole thing in 1 hour - instead of starting from scratch. Shared folders between VMs also make it easy :)
One of the only drawbacks I see at the moment is a ~1GB RAM loss per VM.

      If vms are worthless...
why do i get bans within several days if i dont use a vm
and why do they often survive 40 days inside vm?

Tell me why its useless to let every bot seem like a single person ;)

makes no sense, but ok. everyone should bot the way they prefer

blizzard at any time they investigate player will know immediately if that player is running from a vm..there is no questions about that..

And I'm sorry but if a GM see your on a vm ( or a well known v p n ip range) they are going to look way more into your account, because what normal player is going to use a v p n or vm ? No one..

You want to make you bot look as human as possible, vms and v p n s are not one of those things

Cloudy said it- it must be true every one.. Has brought nothing to the community since joining in 2012.

If you actually delude you self to think a normal player would use a V P N or a VMS to play wow then we are simply wasting our time. There is not a single benefit to it..

Even the Developers of this bot Tell you, You are wrong.. but you still insist on proving to the forums how big of a douche bag one can be.

I see not benefit of having this thread. Use it if you want and have the need. VM's are not support and we do not recommend it but there might be scenarios where they make sense.
