I'm using a setup that consists of EarthVPN and VMWare 7. I simultaneously run multiple bots at once, maximizing gold output.

      How about you guys?

Do you bot on your desktop or on a VM? Perhaps a spare PC?

I run 5 bots 24/7 non-VM. VM can be detected and normal people wouldn't use it so I see no point in sticking a flag on myself if they decide to flag those users one day.

I have seen NO evidence of this. You are telling me someones opinionated mishmash. Give me stonecold hard evidence of VM's causing bans. Just because of the HWID? No. You don't know this but many overseas gaming lan cafes use virtual machines for WoW. If they ban solely on VM use then even legitimate VM users would be banned which would cause an outcry. Not one result on google about this though.

I also bot with two other people and we destroy virtual economies on purpose. We are in a group chat on skype, they also use VMs as do I. None of us have been banned and one of them bots for LONG 24-48 hour sessions with no bans since WoD release.

Please show me stone cold hard proof that VMs cause bans, please don't link me some one elses opinion with no citations or references.

Until then I will continue to use VMware.

      Thanks!!!

I never said they were causing bans I said it could be checked. Please READ carefully. Additionally, If they did flag those users they wouldn't ban them all instantly they would simply watch them to see if they were legit or not.

Okay but either way you're saying VMs play a role in getting you banned. There is NO proof of this.

If you didn't have that intention you wouldn't of said what you said. "They could be detected"

So they "could play a role in getting you banned"

Either way you're still wrong. I want stone cold hard evidence and proof references or citations to back your opinionated claims up.

No, I'm not just because they haven't used it doesn't mean its not usable.

Dude.. your method of thinking is messed up.. think of it this way.. my man..

If VMs lead to bans, legitimate users would be banned.

With how many players there are in the world, they're not going to profile whether or not your HWID is a virtual machine.

You already said you can't bring any references or citations to the table so I'll just drop this useless argument here.

Think what you want. C++ Can detect VMs that's a solid fact. Hopefully for your sake they choose not to use it but if they ever do I won't be effected.

Detection of a virtual machine doesn't matter at all my friend.. it's quite easy and of course C++ can detect it, I just told you how to detect it in an earlier post, through the users HWID.
It's about the virtual machine playing a role by influencing you getting banned solely by having a VM HWID.
I don't think you've done enough research to provide a thorough argument, my friend.. can we please drop it. agree to disagree

Believe what you want it doesn't matter. I see them flagging VMs in a future date for review of bot users because so many use them in botting. There are numerous ways to detect VMs not just your method by the way.

VM's or not, I haven't ever seen the need to use them.
Botting on them, and botting not using them, the banrate in my experience is the same.
So, I'm just lazy now and don't use them.

No one plays in a virtual machine.

Proof you can detect virtual machines with ease: Detect if your program is running inside a Virtual Machine - CodeProject

      I have. VM = worthless.

Have proof but given it many times over the years. Dont feel the need to go into it again.

      But VM's are 100% worthless

Oh and yes they are detctable. Easly with 1 comparison statment.

With my current setup I have them all set up on the same comp, VMs are a hassle and are a target.

to be fair, you haven't given one bit of evidence to contradict his statement. You may not get instabanned by using a vm, but you surely won't stop yourself from being banned by using one either.

not having one hard piece of evidence surely doesnt discredit a theory either. [insert religious theory here]

only had experience with d3 using vm's for a very short period, i agree with the others, vms=garbage. In fact, every nit pick, tinfoil hat theory that gets brought up here once in awhile about watching ur bot, only bot for this many hours, when ppl are asleep is also garbage.
