      Introduction
Ok, so more and more people are joining in on the pet battle bandwagon. You see more pet battle content in every new content patch. But starting out with pet battles can be tedious and quite boring. You have only a few level 1 pets, and none of them are any good, really. So how do you get started? Being an expert in pet battles, I thought I'd help you getting started! I've already helped a lot of people in person. People who wanted to use my pet-battle botbase (PokeLevel), but didn't have anything to start off with.

First of all, you need to do the introductionary quests to unlock all 3 battle-pet slots. There are lots of other guides to do this, so I won't go into details here. This guide is for you, when you've already unlocked all your 3 battle-pet slots! Also, you will need a level 3 garrison to make it a lot easier (pet menagerie does not need to be unlocked yet).

      Getting Started
First thing you're gonna want to do, is get a Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling. It doesn't matter if it's rare or uncommon. They're made from engineering and are usually quite cheap on AH. The only thing you have to keep in mind, is that unless you already have a level 25 pet, you cannot buy and learn a new level 25 pet. So make sure not to buy one that is higher level than your current highest level. If a level 1 is cheapest, just buy a level 1, because we're going to insta-boost it to 25 anyways!

Also, you're gonna want to look at prices for the following pets. If any of them are cheap (within the limit that you want to spend on pets to get a good starting base), go ahead and buy them. You're likely going to need them / use them a lot! I've marked the most used / important pets with green, other generally useful pets with black, and blue is the color for those that are used in some cases, but not needed for more than a single daily quest or two. Note however, that most of these pets are generally good pets and will likely be used in more tactics coming soon. Most of them are also popular in PVP.

Now that you have your dragonling, go to your garrison, and complete the following quest: Unearthed Magic (Alliance/Horde). This will give you a stone to insta-boost your dragonling to 25. To use it, summon your dragonling, target it, and use your stone.

      Your first match (maybe)
Now that you have your dragonling, you can already do a daily quest in Draenor that will also give quite good exp to any low-level pet! Here we come, Ashlei

This fight is quite simple, because she uses an Elekk Plushie (she called it Doodle), which is basically a pet that does nothing (think magikarp).
Here are the tactics (courtesy of Tritox on wowhead - source):

      [HIDE]
First Pet: Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling (1,1,2) / (Dragon Breath, Bombing Run, Decoy)
Second Pet: Any low level pet you want to boost
Third Pet: Doesn't matter, we're not using it.

First, use decoy to avoid the next few attacks. Then spam Dragon Breath until the first enemy is dead.
When the next pet comes out, switch to your low level pet, and then switch back to your Dragonling and use Bombing Run.
From here on, just spam Dragon Breath until you've won the fight.
      [/HIDE]

Keep doing this dailiy for a few days until one of the other pets I mentioned above are level 25 too. Getting those to 25, means that you can do more dailies every day, and thus level your pets faster. PokeLevel (found on buddy store) can do all these dailies for you, as well as provide you with a GUI to show which pets are needed for which dailies (and whether you have them or not). More dailies will be added to this guide later.

If your dragonlin is not rare, this daily will provide you with 4 Pet Charms every day. Once you reach 15, you can buy a Marked Flawless Battle-Stone from Serr'ah / Lio the Lioness.

I uploaded an update with him included today, it's awaiting approval from buddy team. But please keep PokeLevel discussion in the thread for PokeLevel, and let this thread be for the guide only.

I would like to hear about the bugs you experienced in the PokeLevel thread
