      Hey,

      I have ubuntu 16.04 LTS, wine-1.9.19 and playOnLinux. However installed WoW and it works perfectly. now I need to know how to install honorbuddy with it.

      I admire you linux passion and I certainly run linux on a number of devices and servers myself. For gaming, sadly so, I still have a Windows box. I doubt you'll get official support or get it working unofficially. But happy to be proven wrong.

      You won't be able to run HB via WINE yet. HB requires .NET 4.6.2 and C++ 2015 Update 1, neither of which are supported. Even when HB just needed .NET 4.5.2 and C++ 2013 it didn't work.

      They will "support" it by telling you to run a VM with windows in it.

      what does it have to do with "them" - you are using wine which does not offer net 4.5.x so its simple there is no way HB will ever run in it.

      In my experience the devs and mods are very openly against VMs

      Maybe 6 months ago I tried to get it working on Linux and failed horribly.

      Looks like someone just got .NET Framework 4.6 working in WINE. Maybe the method will work for 4.6.2, as well: WineHQ - .NET Framework 4.6

      But it looks like Visual C++ 2015 is not working in WINE at all: WineHQ - Visual C++ Redistributable Package

      The Buddy Team does suggest a VM, but obviously the performance hit will be pretty significant.
