So how exactly does honor buddy protect itself from warden. If you use this bot which i do you can clearly see it in processes Honorbuddy.exe is up. Warden gonna see that..... I changed the name of it but under the new name on the description tab it still says honorbuddy. So my question is how does honor buddy if at all protect me from warden when its so obvious on your processes that your using honor buddy.
When you agree to play on the NA servers you sign the tos, tos states that you give warden permission to check your processes while playing. So yes they can check whats running..
warden isnt allowed to scan outside of WoW. so it cant do a blind scan for process names so your safe. i could go into a lot of detail of how honorbuddy does its thing, but ultimately you just need to know this. we haven't had a single banwave from warden, and its detection methods. and blizzard had to sue us to get us to stop. so obviously if they could of stopped us they would of a long time ago. the only way you would get banned now, is from player reports or not botting safely, like gathering nodes for hours on end in a place thats really populated.
No they cant, All they can do is check the processes running inside WoW itself not your whole pc, Anyone can make a TOS saying they can but really its illigal to do so, blizzard have been in trouble of trying too do it. And I will state this again for the noobie's like yourself.....If they could HONOR BUDDY WOULD OF BEEN SHUTDOWN YEARS AGO! !!!! Dam your CODEMAN! yet again you beat me !
except they cant, its not in the code for warden too, and its illegal for them to do so. even if its in the eula, or tos, they cannot. warden only cares about whats being changed inside of wow, and acts more like a hypervisor more then anything, making sure nothing messes with wow that isnt suppose to be messed with.
Actually changing the name of the Honorbuddy.exe does change it in your process list. Mine say's i'm running microsoft word
It did for a max of 1 day years ago, then they got in deep shit for doing so 3 years running honorbuddy in the processes and with its name, not 1 ban yet
Warden (software) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia thats a basicly the only thing worth knowing as all other information after warden 2.0 was implemented is ever VERY outdated and no longer valid, or kept between a dev team (like buddyteam), since no one really cares about it anymore anyway, since blizzard has learned just paying lawyers is a lot more effective then paying programmers to actually be creative.
You know what is funny about that they try sue botting companys that dont have the 1 million they want, but still go ahead and ask for a stupid amount Blizzard is a crap company and always has been
It's been very hard to bot safely lately with all the issues that have arisen around using it. Dungeonbuddy has only just started working properly and archaeology buddy was getting stuck all the time so that made it harder to AFK. I love Honorbuddy and it's made playing the game more fun for me.
People tend to forget that even though the EULA might state they're allowed to do certain stuff, Blizzard still has to abide by the law of the country they operate in. Most countries in the world simply do not allow such personal data to be collected by a third party, hence why we can be certain that they don't know you're running Honorbuddy.exe on your system. And even IF they know, they simply cannot use this data to judge you, as they're not allowed to know.
In light of current events It looks like Warden is now able to detect HB Will the devs be looking at ways to hook into the wow process that warden accepts as ok? Perhaps a cut down version that only does the basics that is more easy to disguise as a geniune process running
I would deleted WoW_64 and launch the game directly from the 32 bit client and only launch the game from battle.net only when the game needs to be updated.
