Hey everyone.

I tried to post this in the guides section, but it said i didnt have permission... boo :(

anyways...

Since I wrote the 80-85 grinding profiles for HB fairly fast, I have had LOTS of people asking me how to write profiles... and everytime I have said that "I only started yesterday" and "I have no idea of the advanced stuff"

but people kept on asking...

...so I made this video as a beginner for beginners... a quick and easy way to make a profile using the brilliant resources from the Wiki (which most people dont even realise exists).

I admit that I know very little about profile making but using the method provided in this video I have created some fairly successful profiles for myself (and others) that are working!!!

The video is in no way perfect and im sure that there are better, more advanced ways... but this is made from a beginners point of view so hopefully other people wanting to start making profiles will be able to because of me and then go on to learn more advanced stuff from the wiki.

please dont flame me for this video, im just trying to help other people who are struggling to start their profile making hobby... you never know, if this video does what it is supposed to, more people will learn to make better profiles and use the wiki!

Part 1:

Part 2:

Thanks
Muntahunta

p.s (this video is bad quality, has a bad narrator and an even worse video editor... if easilly offended by any of these things, i apologise :p)

THIS IS GOOD INFORMATION, LISTEN TO IT :p

Indeed, this is a great 15-min whirlwind tour of how to write an Honorbuddy grinding profile!

Two reminders:
• For a grinding profile, you really want a ForceMail block (info on how to get one is down at the bottom of the "[wiki]Grinding Starter Profile[/wiki]").
• The ProtectedItems block should not be included in a grinding profile--each user should place the contents in a ProtectedItems.xml file inside the Honorbuddy directory. By doing this, each user doesn't depend on the profile writer to keep the <ProtectedItems> block inside a profile up to date. More info about this here ([wiki]HonorBuddy: About Protected Items[/wiki]).

THANK you!
CJ

Dude it's like 1mb! There's no excuse :D

We also have a little connection amongst ourselves that I'm sure would be willing to give out free keys for some nice non-public profiles ;)

He did the blackspot exactly right in the video.

What he did was define two points that represent the diameter of a circle. Thus, the area around the tree would be blackspotted, with the blackspot having a diameter equal to the length of the felled tree, and a centerpoint halfway between the crest and the roots of the felled tree.

You could certainly define several smaller blackspots--there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. And in certain situations, this is exactly what is needed. But for the example given, the one large blackspot is sufficient.

cheers,
CJ
