What if hypothetically, some one lost their key, went to BuddyAuth to retrieve it and then couldn't see it because of this bug?

Anything you send to our support email is only viewed by our staff. No need to be paranoid. However if you completely lost your key, send us the email you used at checkout and a transaction ID.
