Hi there, today I was going to login one of my accounts but it didn't accept the password. I throught "Here we are, it got suspended:(", but after checking the associated email address I didn't find any suspension notice...I just found this:
      Code:
      Battle.net Account - Password Reset

We have reset the password for the Battle.net account associated with this email address. To choose a new password, please click the following link and follow the instructions:

      [A LINK TO PASSWORD RESET]

If you did not request the reset, it is possible that this Battle.net account has been accessed by someone not authorized to do so. If you notice issues with the Battle.net account or associated games after logging in with your new password, please contact the appropriate support department for assistance immediately: [url=http://eu.blizzard.com/support/article.xml?locale=en_GB&articleId=22455]Blizzard Support[/url]

Please remember that it is your responsibility to keep your login information confidential. You may not share access to the account with anyone who is not expressly permitted in the [URL="http://eu.blizzard.com/en-gb/company/about/termsofuse-new.html"]Battle.net Terms of Use[/URL] and the Terms of Use for the games you play. You are also responsible for every use of your login information, whether you have authorized it or not.

      COMPUTER AND ACCOUNT SECURITY:

Account compromises can occur when a player shares login information with an unauthorized third party or plays on a computer that has a virus, Trojan, or keylogger. In a case where you believe your account has been accessed by an unauthorized party, we would like to suggest that you review the following pages for various security awareness tips (as well as how to recover in-game items or characters) before you log back into the account:

and another mail (received 2 minutes after the first one) which was saying the exact same thing, with a slightly different password reset link.

Once i did the password reset, my toon was exacly as i left it, it was not suspended or such (as i was expecting), i didn't notice any lack of gold, goods or equipment.

Why did they reset my account? I share the account with my girlfriend, but it's been like 1 year and nothing like this has ever happened.

If someone really accessed my account, why the hell didn't he steal every gold i had on it?

Thin toon bots almost 24/7, should I lie down for a while?

Blizzard will issue a password reset when an account is suspended.

I've had the same thing happen, and up to 1-2 hours later the account has been suspended.

I get password locks like this on my accounts when I move towns.

I have recently been traveling back and forth from Dallas, Tx to South, Tx. When I get online from either place, at least once of my accounts get locked "for their protection" and I have to reset the passwords. No biggie. Maybe your IP changed or something, or perhaps you share your account, or perhaps someone DID get on it for a moment from somewhere else. I'd do a scan for any keyloggers if I were you.

On that note, Blizzard now has the Dial-in Authenticator now. The service is free. How it works is, if enabled, you will assign your account a telephone number, its official telephone number, and if your account is accessed from a different location than your normally play, it will prompt you to dial a 800 number from that specified phone to be able to log in.

I haven't personally tried it, and I probably wont for my bots, but maybe for my main, if I ever play again. Botting is my new WoW :D

On another note, the way to tell if you are getting suspended is you will get your password reset email, and if you try to reset it, it wont let you. It will tell you that your security question is wrong, even if you enter it in correctly.

Nothing happened so far :) I guess my GF ip was too different from mine this time, so the account got locked.

If you or someone else logged onto the account via a different ip this will happen also, i had a friend call lastnight and ask me to kick his bot offline because he has been botting for close to 15 hours and didnt want to be flagged, so i did, and bam temp account lock because his normal ip and my ip didnt match, no biggy it is just blizzard watching out for us.
