      Hey guys,

Im looking at buying a new PC, purely to run my bots on.
      ATM im using:
      Q6600 @ 2.4ghz
      8gig of DDR3 Ram
      ATI 4870 X2

Ive noticed that the RAM still has wiggle room, but there is a major draw on my CPU (Mainly by HB it seems.)

Im normaly running 6-7 bots and my CPU use seems to be capped at 100% on all 4 cores. (Or so my moniter tells me)

Any advice on what sort of specs i would need? should i just aim for something like wha ive got or fork out for a i3/5?

I was looking at the DDR2, purely becuase its cheap.

WoW and HB are both very CPU intensive, although I'm not sure WoW or HB are optimized to use multiple cores. On the high end I would recommend an i7 CPU with the triple channel DDR3 support and a nice SSD. Your video cards are probably fine for the time being.

What kind of budget are you looking to spend?

I dont think something is working right with your system to be honest.
      I could run 6-8 bots on my E4400 @3ghz, with a 256mb 8600gt and 3G DDR2-800
The CPU load would spike between 80-100% and the ram was maxed, but they ran ok.
If your running your 4870's in xfire, I would maybe sell one and spend the cash on a good CPU cooler and OC it.
If your CPU bound you could just upgrade that for now depending on your needs. If you are only wanting to run 10 bots, and by spending $1-200 on a cpu you can, then why not postpone spending on a new rig (unless you want to :) )

System wise, you could look at a AMD hex core (1045 or 1055 I think) with something like 16gig, a decent single card (your pick) and a 32gig SSD to run wow/HB off. that should handle well over 20 bots.
The biggest problems I found in running multi bots was HDD issues. when running multiple wow clients the fast access times for small reads for loading info makes a BIG differance.

I was tossing up goin cheapish, or even just upgrading the CPU for the moment, i found a system much like mine for 450. The 4870's are one of those two core GFX cards. Ive got a major job coming up in feb, might hold off and just smash down a massive system there.

I just did a quick google, why not OC to 3ghz. It is supposed to be stable on standard air cooling.
Its free and *might* give you the extra headroom you need.
