Battlechest/Client sales.

So I'm disappointed that the sale ended, but only that I didn't choose to buy more Bchests and Wod subs while it lasted the fairly long time it did. I'm a student atm so even a measly $20 expense has to be carefully weighed at this point in time for me.

I've been botting less than a year and have only had more than a single account for the same amount of time and never paid attention to sales of the game client in my spotted playtime history, so I'm curious what the patterns are for Blizzard having sales of this nature. I did some googling and found mostly hilariously dated information and forum posts, as well as the dead end of "donate to ownedcore and get access to the $5 battlechest only for elite subscribers!" Naturally I'm skeptical and don't view an ownedcore donation as a viable method.

Does Blizzard have sales like this periodically throughout the year? Can we expect another soon? And is there actually any way to find discounted versions of the game?

(Note: I'm aware of the discount they entice you with to upgrade a trial account, but my interest in purchasing several more chests and wanting to get WoD for them too lends motivation to find the most economical possibility I can)

 

Generally speaking, they only have two or three "sales" per year, only one is guaranteed each year to occur.
