I started botting in Cataclysm, and wasn't banned until May 2015. Why do you think Blizzard started actively attacking us? I personally think it's because of the mass amounts of bots in BGs and farming herbs/ore. I'm not complaining about the people who did because it's part of Honorbuddy, but I can't help but feel other players started getting really mad when 95% of their team were bots. That, and bots flooding the market with so many herbs/ores, and Blizzard losing money due to botters selling gold, effectively dropping the overall gold price, and motivating people to buy it cheap and get a WoW token, rather than buying a monthly sub.

Apparently Blizzard have a new head Warden guy who has gone out of his way to try and really prove himself.

Now they have game tokens, and they get mad knowing that us botters are not speding our money on their game time, instead we bot gold and buy tokens. They have to at least make us purchase more accounts. They dont really care about fair players having disadvantage, they just know we are messing with their income

I agree with both presented opinions, this has been a long time coming and this time around I think the HB community has never been so blatantly arrogant about the situation. I've botted this game since cata and played since vanilla. Seen many account come and go for selling gold and such, even had a couple get hit here and there with previous banwaves. Blizz was pissed this time and we all got caught, I would not be surprised if the ninja patched delivered last week was specially crafted just for us. As for Blizz security, they have sucked for quite a while, and they have been hiring too. This shitlord fiesta of a banwave is reflective of the HB community at large. I can't find a screencap of it but in big fucking bold letters at Blizzcon were the words "Honorbuddy" on the signature wall. It's one thing to bot and break the ToS. It's another thing to whip your dick out and piss in the face of the company you are technically exploiting. Not siding with either parties, I will continue to play wow and continue to bot wow. But maybe, just maybe if we don't want a fucking bullseye on out foreheads, we probably shouldn't volunteer them to be put there...

      Just a thought.

each game token nets blizz $20. 33% more than what the botter would pay for their sub.

The honorbuddy website is open to the public. You put a bullseye on you right there. At any given time i bet theey always have someone viewing these threads.

I believe it is mostly because of PvP/BG where players directly feel the "impact" of a bot.
That results in a lot of frustration with the normal players, which results in tickets and forum posts, which results in blizzard doing something.

if the forums were closed do you think the $200 legendary buddy status would keep them out?

I gave them the sub fee and never bought tokens. Didn't even bot for gold, just PvE. 6 month ban. Thanks Blizz, I don't have the reflexes to play like I used to back in high school and still wanted to enjoy the game.
