      Hello, I'm trying to install TortoiseSVN 64bit but I get the following error:

      An error occured during the isntallation of assembly component
      {CDD90568-0476-39AC-B2F0-8F5B8A08E3CA}
      HRESULT: 0x80073712

      Couldn't find anything with the search option on the forums, I also tried googling it and the info I found was that in 99 % of the cases this is fixed with restart and the other 1 % with Registry Clean up. I did both but nothing of that helped. (Used Registry Easy v5.6)

      Altho I was able to install the 32bit version but I didn't have any options when right clicking on a folder. (Yes I restarted after the installation)

      Windows 7 64bit home premium licensed

      What I did exactly: Last night tried to install 64 bit version got that error, went to sleep. Today I tried again, and again that error. Installed 32 bit version restarted it seemed ok but I didn't have the options on folder menus so I uninstalled it rebooted and tried again to install the 64 bit and again that error. Then I tried few restarts and the registry cleanup.

      I run Tortoise SVN on Win7 Ultimate x64 with no problems. The only thing I can think of is "are you running the installer with admin privileges?".

      right-click the installer -> "Run as Administrator"

      Sorry I don't have anything else to try atm.

      cheers,

      Yes I thought about that, and I saw on the FAQ on their page that I need to run it as Administrator but when I right click on it there is no Run as Administrator?

      I just tried it, the first options I have are Install Repair Uninstall but still no Run as Administrator... it's the same in both accounts.

      uninstall your tortoise
      restart your comp
      reinstall

      also, disable your UAC (User Account Control) which pops up that stupid admin crap (user accts in the control panel of windows and then somewhere in there)

      UAC was disabled even before I started trying to install tortoise. And Tortoise is already uninstalled at least I can't find it in the Programs and features in control panel.. I downloaded a new copy of the insatllation and I got that error again.
