      ************************************

Both accounts were "Banned" not locked or suspended. Both got the "exploitation of economy" email as the reason for the ban.

I was botting for at least a full month with Account #1 18 -24 hrs a day no problems. Once i added the second account they both were banned within a day or two at the same time.

Both accounts were set up to mail loot to a bank alt on account #1. The bank alt would then put the loot into a guildbank owned by my Main's account. I sell the loot using my main's account (bad idea?). My main's account was not banned, locked, or disciplined whatsoever.

I suspect that I may have tripped off the auto-ban script by the volume of loot that was mailed to the one guildbank toon on account #1.

I appealed both bans using the "Help I got hacked!" webform on the battle.net page. One account was immediately reactivated on the first answer from the ticket without even a 72 hr suspension. The other account got a response from the GM saying something to the effect of: "Call the Account & Technical Services team by phone and submit a driver's license." I haven't called or submitted a license cause i don't have one that matches the account to submit. It's actually on an account that i bought from a wow friend with gold so i may be able to get him to upload a license photo for me. I was considering just photoshoping a driver's license with the account name on it, does anyone know if the birthday date or home address has to be correct in order for this to work?

Next go-round I want to bot more carefully. I've heard that there's a plugin that can schedule bot sessions and take breaks during the session, does anyone know what plugin to use or how to do this? I've looked through the Plugins section but don't see what I'm looking for. Is there a way to set the bot up to automatically do some gatherbuddy2, then do some dailies or quests or something to make it look like you're a real player and not just a bot that grinds herbs and ore every minute of gameplay?

      EDIT:

This was the response from the GM on Account #1 (the one that got reactivated right away).

Thank you for contacting us concerning the recent action taken against the World of Warcraft account WoW1. After a thorough review of the circumstances involved in this action, the account has been reopened and access restored.

Additionally, the Battle.net Terms of Use (Blizzard Entertainment:Battle.net Terms of Use) state that "You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of the Login Information, and you will be responsible for all uses of the Login Information, including purchases, whether or not authorized by you."

Thank you for your continued correspondence in regards to your account and for respecting our position.

I thought of another thing after getting this reply. I had recently manually deleted my Cache folder because account #1 would freeze at the loading screen just after selecting the character. Both accounts are run on the same computer with the same install of WOW. My main's account is on a different computer. i'm thinking this may have had something to do with it, especially considered the greatly different amount of use on the accounts, the different zones, profile, and the number of auctions. Just a thought, in all likely hood the ban was caused by the quantity of loot mailed to the one bank alt character or simply the amount of hours straight that they were online.

This was the 2nd response from the GM on Account #2. The first one said they were working on it and didn't specifically state that i HAD to upload a driver's license or HAD to call the phone number, so i just sent another message asking if they were working on my problem. A more detailed response this time from a different GM:

I got 3 accounts banned yesterday as well. I figured they would get banned sometime as they only farmed ore/herbs. I only had them on when i was at the computer or watching a movie in the other room, but i'm on the computer for 10+ hours a day. I called support and he said i triggered an auto ban for being online long periods of time. I sent in a ticket and they kept the ban decision. Then i wrote a sob story of how i lost my job and was going to go to the midnight launch blah blah blah, and STILL no unbanning. On the other 2 accounts i copied/pasted the same thing i personally wrote, about farming hard to get gold for the expansion and such. One was unbanned, the other they said was hacked and they needed a drivers license to unlock it.

It really just goes to show you it depends on the GM who looks at the ticket as to what they will do. I'm in the same boat, i need a fake DL i can upload to get the account back =\

I wonder if mailing items to your main bank toon is a bad idea. I wonder if it would be safer to use a middle man account to gbank stuff than take it out and sell... ive gotten to the point with my farm toons that i let them get 12 items in the stash than goto the mailbox. no gold, no loose items. plus i dont bot 24/7 15-16 a night

I don't mail loot from my bots directly to my main accounts bank alt. I mail the loot to a bank alt on the bot account who then deposits the loot into a guildbank which my main account is the GM of. I then take the loot out of the guildbank by a bank alt on my main account and sell it. The toon that does the transfer from mailbox to guildbank is standing at booty bay because you can stand within range of a mailbox and a guildbank at the same time. I have the guild set up so that the transfer toon on the bot account only has deposit-only access so if that account is ever taken back by the original owner they can't rob my guildbank loot (i bought it at a player auction site... don't know who originally owned it). With the addon "Postal" i can hit one button and empty the transfer toon's mailbox and then easily deposit it all to the guildbank.

Ideally I'd have another account besides my main account that its sole purpose is to sell the loot and not bot, but it's bad enough paying for gametime on 2 farming and 1 main account. I know that it's a risk selling the loot on my Main's account, but I figured it's better to not have a lot of auctions on your bot accounts. A lot of people will report you simply by the number of auctions that you post or if you undercut them, or if they are a competing botter. I like the idea that if i get reported on my main for auctions that there's no miner or herber with a huge number of nodes gathered on that account. I buy and sell a lot to make money on my main's account as it is, so i figure i can always use the argument that i was just buying and selling. If they quesion me about the guildbank with the herbs and ore, I will say that I had an agreement with another player who is a farmer to sell his herbs and ore for him cause he doesn't know the auction house game like i do. They won't ban your account cause you traded with players who were cheating... you can always plead ignorance and say that you didn't know they cheated to get the ore and herbs. Anyway, i sell most of the loot face to face with private buyers and guildmates. When i do sell on the AH i never post more than 7-8 stacks of any one item at a time. I also don't want to keep large quantities of loot on my bot accounts because if they get banned then i loose all of the loot. I want to start using the "deposit to guildbank" feature for my bots instead of using the mail system, but i can't seem to get it to work right. Most of the time it flies to the repair vendor and then just stands there indefinitely. ONE TIME i saw it hearth and go to the guildbank, but when it was done it couldn't make its way back to the zone to continue gathering. Anyone know how to use this feature correctly? Do i have to set coordinates for a gbank in the profile? Also, is there any way to make the bots use the ports in org?

I managed to find out the original account owner's birthday and hometown so i whipped up a driver's license. Submitted it today... I'll let you know how it goes.

I wonder also... ive seen people banned for multi auctions. I think haveing a couple farm accounts that mail items to a middle man account, than sell/deposit, than move the gold to your main. I tend to leave the gold in the guild bank untell i need some of it.
