I thought it would be fun to track my gold earnings within excel and then graph them, as a way to try and figure out how to maximize profits and increase my efficiency.
So anyways, I started playing on a brand new account about one week and a month ago. Purchased HB right away and leveled a Paladin to 80 (which I then picked up Herbalism and Mining). I also leveled up a couple alts that I use as profession whores (JC + Alch, Ench+ BS) to maximize everything I was earning. After hitting 80, I purchased GB and began the process of getting all my professions (they were at 300) up to 450, which only took a day or so. And then I began farming herbs/ore and either selling everything on AH, or turning the raw mats into flasks, enchants, BS stuff, JC stuff, etc. So anyway...here's the data, which I will try to update every Sunday so people can see my progress :p. This graph starts at (0,0), when I began recording data, but at that time I already had around 16k in my bank. By tonight I should be up over 38k g.

With the linear regression t-test, I get the equation f(x) = -1518.3 + 3.47x (this is after adding considering the point 0,0 in my analysis which I realized should be the appropriate starting value). This essentially means that I earn 3.47 gold per minute of real life time (this is whether I am logged in in-game or not. Translates to 208.2 gold/hr). Isn't math fun?

(please forgive how I edited, I didn't want to release anything that could provide Blizzard with a route to my account:cool:)

Trust me they wouldn't go through with the effort.

But very nice! I use excel to keep track of my Gold/Money Profits etc :)
