Hello, I'm using the HB2 Demo currently, just to try before I buy, but I'm encountering the same issue that I had when I glided back in the day.

(please move this if it is in the wrong section)

When I was Gliding I was using a whole different computer and OS (and screen) so that's not it.
My Power saving settings are all set to "never" so my computer does not go to sleep mode.
      Screensaver is turned OFF.

      Problem:
I like to bot at night, when I sleep so it would be great to turn the screen off because it's easier to sleep and the screen gets scarily hot if it's on for too long (like 20h a day lol). But everytime I turn off my screen, using the power button on the screen, I get disconnected within 10minutes of doing it. I almost never get disconnected when my screen is turned on, so basically, it has something to do with me turning off the screen.

I've heard that it's impossible for the screen to be the problem but I cant see anything else that could cause this, because the only times I get DC'd is within 10 minutes of turning the screen off.

I had this problem with glider too, a long long time ago and couldn't find a solution.

I appreciate any help or maybe some guiding to what I should do to find the problem and possibly from that, the solution.

If I was unclear about something, please ask and I'll try to explain it better.

That is extremely strange. As you mentioned, there should be no reason shutting off the screen would cause it to dc.

      I would try this: http://www.redmondpie.com/downloadscenter/TurnOffLCD.zip

Its a small one click app that shuts off lcd's (I use it on my laptop when I want to keep it open but the screen off). It might solve your issue.

    3. Yeah well, I tried it for about 15 minutes and no DC! I'm now going to try having it on for an hour or so :).

      Thanks!:D

Is your screen technically a TV?

If so, when TVs are turned off, they generally lose all power and stop sending anything over the cable, so the PC thinks you've disconnected it. Then it believes with no monitor there is no output, could be messing the DirectX up.

    6. i dont think so, it's a LCD.. "HP w19b"

Are you connecting your cable modem, etc. to the monitor's USB hub?

I have the same problem with my TV that has component as well as VGA port in the back (along with others) and it shuts off after a few hours of me not moving the mouse or keying anything and such. Then I get D/C'ed sometimes. I do the exact same thing with a monitor and I never get D/C'ed. I don't really have a solution, just mentioning that your not the only one =D.
