Although I took a bit of a pasting in the ban wave, I think it pretty much cleaned out all the players in my area. Traditionally strong gyms, often level 10, now have 1-2 Pokemon in them, and very weak CP.

I took out a gym with one 1,200 cp Rydon, and another with a 1,50 cp Snorlax. That was the total defenses. Most other local gyms are in a similar situation in my town.

I'll be honest I do get annoyed playing against thin air, when you conquer a gym and it comes immediately under attack, while no one is around you. However some kind of challenge is also nice when clearing gyms.

Anyone else having these kind of problems in their area?

Absolutely! 1 month ago the gyms were full of Dragonites 3000-3400... now you can see a Snorlax 2000, Lapras 2000 Rydon 2000 as top

I also notices a big change in the team-leader. My city was a 80% Mystic team and now there are a loooooooot of Team Instinct... and 0% Team Valor.

But I really miss my Dragonites :(

I know what you mean... all the cheaters were blue and mainly red, and now it's all yellow gyms, because most of the cheaters are banned.

My main got banned, got like 14 others still that survived lol

I stared a new account though to make my main when the ban wave hit, its level 30 now and I got Dragonites, Snorelaxes, Lapras, ect...

Really a ban is only a temp setback, withen a week I am getting close to where I was before and I will use my star dust more wisely this time.

I already have 1 nice Dragonite in my new account but how do you get good Snorlax and Lapras? I only got one Lapras 900 CP :( In other accounts I used sniper but it's a big risk...

The basic way everyone is doing things at the moment, is to buy a Bossland Ninjabot key, and with that you can use 5-6 bots at the same time to create 5-6 new accounts. It also has an autosniper option, so it can catch Pokemon as you level up. Only bot in one country (or USA state) and snipe within a sensible radius, of your chosen area, 140 km is the total max, and leave it about 300 seconds before snipes to avoid rubber banding which gets you banned. Don't be in the USA and suddenly go to Japan etc, small hops from your chosen area.

Once you hit level 30, (select the best of the accounts account as your new main) switch to the much safer Pokefarmer bot, and stop sniping entirely, and only bot for short periods.

If you stick to those basic rules you have a decent chance of being ok, but there is always the chance of a ban.

I never understood sniping as it's pretty obvious I've been gps spoofing if they audit or have some algorithm set up to check if speed, distance, time arent reasonable.
I only manually snipe by figuring out where rares are using trackers. Then roughly putting in the gps coord (not putting exact). Figure out if speed, distance, time is reasonable, then start bot.

      Why 140km in 5mins? That's 8400 kph?! Mach 6.86!!?
You mean metres instead of kilometre?

Sniping works by the PoGo location loophole - the sever does not record your avatar's location unless you spin a pokestop or throw a pokeball. So, when the bot snipes, it teleports to the target location -> detects and enters catching mode -> teleports back to original location -> throws a pokeball. It is also the reason why rubberbanding does not always cause a ban to a spoofer.

However, the catpure location would still be recorded as where the sniped target pokemon is at. Therefore, it will look very bad if the record shows someone could catch a mr.mime in Germany and then next minute catch a tauros in California. Although the server would not be able to catch you on the fly in this scenario, it certainly would result a ban in a heuristic analysis later on if your account ever raises a flag.

But, the capture location tracking of PoGo is inexact at best. I've had frequent experience of catching pokemons in the real app and ended up having capture locations recorded 50+km away from where I actually caught the pokemons. It is why Mew2 recommended not to snipe for a large radius and keep it "local" to where your avatar is at.

Nevertheless, one could never know when Niantic would/could possibly change the way locations are tracked. It is theoretically possible to change the server side tracking without requiring a client update, so sniping would always pose a ban-threat of its own.

Nonetheless, botting already can cause ban, either by the fault of the user(s) or the developer(s). Furthermore, since you are not supposed to bot -- according to many on this forum -- any account you care about in the first place anyway, it is logically contradictory not to include a sniping function.

Hence why you snipe up to level 30 with Ninjabot, then switch to pokefarmer. starting in London, using 140km means your basically always inside england, and most pokemon shop up as london either way.

Wow. Thanks for the thorough explanation!

My home IP is in Toronto, Canada. Using UK will add another red flag. Haha!

What i never understood, is why you guys continue to break rules by talking about sniping when its been stated time and time again it is not ok to do so in our forums or in our discord. Thread closed.
