I got a 72 hour ban, appealed, and it didnt change.

I say, when you are perma, appeal, they most likely change to 72 hours, then call em and ask em to re-open your account.

imo, not appealing on a perma-->72 --> re-open by phone, tells them you did something wrong. And they know it.

I got banned on two accounts over a year ago. One from selling gold and one from arch bot. they refused to activate either after countless emails and phone calls.

I'm going to post this because its highly likely to overturn a ban at the moment. I had 4 accounts overturned from a permaban. That's right, I didn't think it was possible but it happened when I submitted a ticket. First time ever, I've lost a total of 5 accounts since I started botting in Burning Crusade.

If you are caught in a banwave - Good luck, You won't be able to overturn a ban no matter how hard you try. Examples of this is Piroxbot Arch banwave, openbot banwave and various others. Usually these are issued with hard evidence on a mass scale and it will not be right away so they can catch more people in the act.

Player Reported Ban - Usually it's an isolated ban but could link up to more than one account. Usually the message consists of Third Party Software copy and paste. These can possibly be overturned, since honorbuddy is not detected they will basically monitor you and then issue the ban based on their findings. I had 4 of my accounts overturned by submitting a ticket and acting dumb.

Gold Selling Ban - Usually from the "Abuse of Economy" emails but others can fall under it. Trading large amounts of gold to known foreign IPs outside the US/EU servers. The best ways to avoid this is by having a small group of friends. I used my guild members that I've known a long time and they know I bot and frequently buy gold from me cheaper than what the websites sell for. Normally I trade under 100k to be on the safe side, because it's known that trading large amount of gold will automatically put a flag on your account. Some reports of legitimate players getting a instant ban (later overturned) from it. However I think the limit is probably risen since release of MoP. I've sold over a million gold this way and never received a ban/suspension.

      Tips

      - Make your own profiles, learn how to do it and make multiple ones for each action you are trying to do, mix it up a bit.

      - Make long-term friends with people interested in buying gold. Don't tell them you bot, just say you have excess gold that you want to get rid of for expenses like college or making ends meet. Afterwards they will continue to buy from you and it won't look suspicious at all. Don't talk about it in-game though.

      Super Safe

      - Do some dungeons and quests on your bot accounts then doing the same action for weeks on end.

      - Use a tunnel program to give your bots different IPs so if one goes down the likely hood of all of them are slimmer.

      - Don't use your paypal/credit information to buy game-time/expansion upgrades.

Something to note. They can't detect the bot (or the tripwire would stop the bot) to the best of our knowledge, so they're going to ring up your activity and get physical. If you're toying with the economy, they will stalk you after something flags, and once they witness you bot, or have the highest reason to assume so, you will get banned. If you play for inhuman amounts of time, you will get flagged by a script, and you will get noticed. Those are common sense.

If they use the word "Investigation" in the email, don't try to repeal using conventional means. This means they will be using login records or they went up to your character ingame and watched you. The easiest way to repeal that is periodically log onto a *** for wow, use a virtual machine for botting. When the computer records don't match they usually give up. If you didn't do that, they used the word investigation, and you're permabanned. Get technical, pretend your an average wow player with a fancy antivirus scanner that told you about [thing that causes computer control, not keylogger!] this is what keeps me from most perms bans. If all else fails you can get mad at them, don't expect much though.

Just got banned as i was boting doing herbalism and mining and yes i probably over did it ;) so my bad there. Will that affect friends (Just one or two), my son or my other account that I have given gold to? (always traded in chunks of 5K and even sent ingame mails with gold also here never over 5K at the time)
