First lets clear something up.
There are two types of bans:
1. Automatic
2. GM-based.

---AUTOMATIC----
These bans apply when your character hits an automatically pre-set filter, this can be trading over 100.000g to a single character multiple times on a Vanilla account or something else. For you programmers it might look something like this:
----
If expansion is BATTLECHEST then
And If character trades 100,000G then
Shut down account and send automatic email
end if
end if
-----
Or it might look something like this
If character gathers > 1000 herbs / day
Shut down account and send automatic email
end if

Or maybe this:

If character online time > 18h/day.
Shut down account and send automatic email
end if

What these filters are, we don't know. But obviously they are designed so that "normal players" dont usually get cought in them. But I actually had a crazy guildy who farmed insanity achievement for 48 hours straight MANUALLY, he got banned.

So this is based on what you do with your character and if you hit these filters or not. It is not really the bot at all, the bot just makes it possible to hit them.
This always results in a closure of the account with a VERY high possibility to get it overturned to a 72h suspension (ONCE, NEVER TWICE).

This is what these E-mails look like, and they originate from WoWAccountReviewEU

-----------------------------
***Notice of Account Closure***

Account Name: WOW3

Reason for Closure: Terms of Use Violation -- Exploitative Activity: Unauthorized Cheat Programs ("Hacks")

This account was closed because one or more characters were identified using an unauthorized cheat program, also known as a "hack." These programs provide character benefits normally not achievable in the World of Warcraft. Such benefits include, but are not limited to, increased speed, teleportation, or running through walls/boundaries. Use of these unauthorized programs harms the game environment because they offer an unfair advantage over other players and supersede the intended limits of the game.

Even if this is the result of account sharing, the account owner can still be held responsible for the penalty because of the impact it had on the game environment.

We've found the above behaviour is many times directly related to groups responsible for compromising World of Warcraft accounts; we take these issues very seriously. To better understand our position against exploitative activity and the risks involved, please review this article: Impact of Buying Gold - Shop - World of Warcraft

The exploitative activity that took place on this account violates the World of Warcraft Terms of Use. We ask you take a moment to review these terms at Blizzard Entertainment: Blizzard Legal Documentation. Any recurring subscriptions on this account have been suspended to prevent further monetary charges.

If you believe your account was compromised, please go to the following website https://eu.battle.net/account/support/account-recovery.html. Our support staff will assist you as soon as possible. If you are unable to access your account due to the password being changed, please visit our Login Support site here: https://eu.battle.net/account/support/password-reset.html

For any disputes of this action or further information on Exploitive Activity, please visit the Exploitative Activity FAQ and contact page here: http://eu.battle.net/support/en/article/200783

Regards,
---------------------------------

-----GM BASED BANS----

These bans are when a GM manually teleports to your location and checks wth is going on with this character. If he thinks you are botting, you're screwed. This almost always results in a 72 hour ban.
The GM might teleport your character to some location or engage in conversation with you to check what's going on. I actually caught one of my bots getting a whisper from a GM and he let me go with a slap on the wrists, dont do that again please he said. Usually they still ban you for 72h even if you're at the computer. They monitor you prior to sending you a message. So they know what's going on.

This is to inform you that action has been taken against your account. Please read on for further information about the action taken, and more details regarding the reason:

This is what these E-Mails look like and they originate from WOWGMEU:

Greetings,

This is to inform you that action has been taken against your account. Please read on for further information about the action taken, and more details regarding the reason:

Battle.net Account Name: XXXXX
World of Warcraft Account Name: WoW3

Account Action: Suspension (72 Hours, Final Warning)

Circumventing normal game mechanics has a negative impact on the game experience of other customers.

Type of Violation: Exploitation
Category of Violation: Third Party Program
Character Name Involved: XXXXXX

While we regret to take this type of action, we have determined it to be in the best interests of the World of Warcraft community as a whole, and for the integrity of the game.
Please note that should any further violations of our Rules and Policies occur, this incident will be taken into consideration when determining the consequences for your account. This could include further warnings, account suspension or account termination.
Also note, you must log into the game after the suspension has expired to update the status of the account shown on your Account Management page.

----------End of discussion-------

As you can clearly see, there are multiple types of bans. Ones that are automatic that contain really no information than "you cheated" and the ones that are from a GM which contains exactly what you did. Usually it says hacks, third party program, automation. I've gotten maybe 100 of these so they contain different stuff depending on which GM writes them.

And now you might ask yourself, so wth...why is this happening now? Well since I'm a long time botter, even back when pirox was around. I can tell you that these filters they use for automatic banning they change, sometimes they loosen them up and sometimes they tighten them down. Back when cataclysm came out you could bot 24/7 and not get a single ban except for GM-bans which are from player reporting or bad luck with GMs checking a certain area. Mid cataclysm they tightened these filters and you'd get banned if you botted for 24 hours, so most people started doing it for 16 hours. 16 Hours worked fine even in MoP, until now when they obviously have tightened it more. Now maybe 12 hours will get you banned? I for one don't know. It has to do with the filters, and I for one don't know what they are. And I don't have the economic resources or time to find out (i.e start up 50 accounts and do an empirical check). But it seems that they are targeting nodes/day or maybe even nodes/week and if that value is too high, you're fubared.

I hope I cleared some stuff up for ya, its tricky to understand how stuff works if you don't have the empirical data to deduce stuff (i.e dont own over 100 accounts and havent bottedn for 4+ years)

End sentence: THE BOT IS NOT DETECTED, THE WAY YOU USE IT IS.

Ok, the bot is not detected. How does that help us? We cant even bot for 5 hours a day now, we just get banned in matter of few days or a week.

End if lol

If (Blizzard is evolving) {
cout<<"new detection system + pathing detection";
}
else if (Blizzard is stupid) {
cout<<"They have been saving up logs to ban people in small waves";
}

Just a guess idk.

I find it interesting that many of these ban letters use the word "HACK" instead of "BOT" when Blizzard's FAQ obviously makes a clear distinction between the two.

Notice in the letter you quoted above it states:
"This account was closed because one or more characters were identified using an unauthorized cheat program, also known as a "hack."

Honorbuddy has sometimes caused my toon to mount inside of buildings when I'm runnnig dungeon buddy and need repairs. That would be viewed as a "hack" rather than "botting."
Honorbuddy has sometimes accessed the mailbox through the wall in the trade district in Stormwind. That would also be viewed as a "hack" rather than a "bot."
Perhaps, people are getting banned for something like this that we have not paid enough attention to notice?

Note that "Hacks" and "Bots" are separated in Blizzard's FAQ:

Unauthorized Cheat Programs ("Hacks")
We take action against accounts using Unauthorized Cheat Programs, or "Hacks," when one or more characters on the account are identified using a third-party "hack" program. These programs provide character benefits normally not achievable in the World of Warcraft. Such benefits include, but are not limited to: increased speed, teleportation, or running through walls/boundaries. Uses of these unauthorized programs harm the game environment because they offer an unfair advantage over other players and supersede the intended limits of the game.

Unauthorized Automation Programs ("Bots")
We take action against accounts using Unauthorized Automation Programs when one or more characters on the account are identified using a third-party program (or "bot") to provide character automation. Use of these "bots" negatively affects the World of Warcraft game environment, since they allow characters to progress without a fair degree of player control. These "bots" include, but are not limited to, programs that automate combat, movement, and use of gathering professions (such as fishing and mining). Through our research, we've found exploitative activity such as the above is often directly tied to gold-selling companies. Please see this page for more information on Blizzard's stance against gold-selling.

A bot is a passive macro. What HB does is injection, and perhaps memory editing. That can be detected.

This is probably why pirox bots were targeted, as I believe they did not inject.

I use gameshark to memory edit all the time and get me thousands of magic carps that I put on sale online daily. So.... I don't see the difference.

HB is a hack period. And, Blizzard does have a system to detect it, we need a bypass until someone steps up and stops being in denial these bans won't stop.'

What proof other than Staff saying "We know it is not detected."? I don't give a rats ass if it's the program itself or the engineering behind it, or both! If certain features are detected why not try come up with a bypass? Why not disable the new AntiCheat that blizzard installs? People from MapleStory have done this for years.

Do you want to know why I buy and don't make my own? Because your right, I am lazy! But that doesn't mean I want a bot that lost majority of its functionality.

Directions: Label the following statement as True or False.
Hacking is memory editing.

There are alot of definitions. Connotative and denotative are the two types.
Connotative and Denotative Vocabulary

What Im still not sure about is, "How can I have the chat textbox open and still use a skill binded to the keys used in typing a message in the text chat box?"

I got permanently banned on my second day of using honorbuddy while questing, had not used it for anything but questing. Used it eight hours the first day and four hours the second day up until the ban.

Perma ban for my first offence, while I was watching it, doing nothing but questing.

Dont take this the wrong way but fuck off and bullshit some other forum we dont need it here.

Sounds like a SOR account, no mercy for those. They get terminated straight away, while normal paid mop accounts will always get 72h suspension first. Blizzard's politics when it comes to money make me wanna quit for good.

I noticed a thing when i got my account banned 72hrs, so i decided to try something.

I have an other account left, i have never run a bot on this account.

First account : I run Honnorbuddy in Valley of four winds for gathering
Second account : I run an other bot, in the same zone, with the same profil (adapted for this bot)

Gatherbuddy account : banned in 8 hours
Other bot account : no banned in 4 days (20hrs/day, no monitoring, no break...)

So i bought a new account, i run XP bot, i watch him 4 hours, banned.

The other account bot 20hrs/day since my first ban

Where is your proof that Honorbuddy alters the WoW memory beyond anything that emulates normal gameplay? Show me a memory map of WoW running with and without Honorbuddy and show me an instance of where the memory differs greatly beyond something that is capable during normal play.

From what I understand, Honorbuddy reads memory to determine the data that needs to be used (HP, NPC locations ((when onscreen)), current Cartesian coordinates in space) and then executes instructions based off these. The way instructions are executed is through use of injection which emulates normal game behaviour.

Not everything that the WoW clients sees is reported back to the server side. IE: When using Tyrael, the "Pause Rotation" and "Resume Rotation" messages appear in the WoW client's chat bar however, that isn't reported back to the server side.

I explained this before to you and you still don't understand. What is wrong with you? You PM me saying search your name in google and your famous. I responded to your PM by saying, "I too am famous. Google my name, John Doe"
If your really that well-known, why can't you grasp a simple concept and let me be entitled to my opinions which do have validity. Instead of you screaming no no no no no..... no offense but your starting to irritate me, your like a stubborn mule that can't look at things from multiple perspectives.

Present:

1) How is it possible to have the wow chat box open and still be spamming the same keys your using for the wow chat box?
- Certain packets tell the server to make your character do something such as use a spell.
2) Not to mention how is it possible to use a mailbox that is on the outside of the auction house?
...much more

These things are only possible with Honorbuddy.

Forgive me but you s***** i******* s** o* a b****. Get a packet sniffer and track the packets yourself if you want evidence. There are free ones like wireshack, if you can't afford a paid one. I do recommend to only use packet sniffing for education purposes.

You honestly have no idea what you're talking about. You are correct in saying that Honorbuddy is capable (to a certain extent) of doing things that a normal human player can't. Some examples are 'seeing' objects that aren't within the camera view and using spells while that chat box is open. Honorbuddy isn't about exactly replicating human behavior, it's about EMULATING behavior. Just the same as a 400 Hz and 600 Hz signal look the same at a 1000 Hz sample rate, Honorbuddy's behavior looks the same as a normal player's behavior from a memory standpoint and from a server standpoint. Who cares if Honorbuddy can access a mailbox through the wall as long as from a software standpoint it appears to be player-like.
