Hi guys, I'm having a lot of problems leveling my toons atm. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Atm I am using Kick's Questing Profiles. Tried to use the new beta build but it isn't working, I think they've got some problems with the QB's. I mean, I've never had to babysit that often before. Plugins I am using atm: - AutoEquip - Mr. Itemremover 2 - Questhelper (not sure if you still need this?) - Anti-Drown - Talented
If you level 99% AFK you probably will not make it to level 60 before you get banned. Being AFK that much is not a great idea right now because many professional botters have been banned lately, and they are not exactly sure why they are getting banned. All we know is that people who watch their bots tend to catch problems before someone comes along to report our toons when they get stuck or continue to do something bottish. Kick's Questing Profiles are super, and you can be AFK in terms of not touching them but it is a lot safer if you are sitting close by just in case something goes wrong so you can fix it immediately. You split the screen and do other things on your computer while you bot. I've even played other games while I botted WoW, but I do not suggest leaving your bot alone going AFK 99%.
I use kicks questing profiles quite a lot for the questing part of leveling, for the most part they work very well, just remember to delete the contents of your honorbuddy cache folder, and a good thing to do is delete the contents of your CompiledAssemblies also from time to time, I if questing do this before i start the bot faithfully.
My guess it that 95% of the ban victims are using GB2, and the rest 5% BGBuddy. BGBuddy is just a public way to ask for reports. GB2 on the other hand, needs some rework in the movement.
I honestly think most of the people who get banned from bg bot are those who run it for way to long without breaks, and those who get lazy and dont take the time set up class/character cc's right. Since MoP ive easily botted over 80-90k honor on various toons and only been called out as a bot once. My characters almost always are towards the top of the charts in dmg and killings blows and no one gives them a second look.
I won't argue with anyone about what is getting banned right now, because I know we are all just guessing. However, I would recommend watching your bot for more than just 1% of the time. You can go to the Ban forum and read what everyone is saying over there if you want to try to figure it out. There is no quick answer to why some of these guys that have been professional botters for years have lost 30 to 100 accounts recently and then been unable to get going again without getting banned before they can even reach lvl 90 on their new set of toons. These guys were smart enough to make it happen for years, but not right now. So, with my limited knowledge of botting, I won't claim to be an expert on the matter. Perhaps Qwee, Zavis, and Minidruid are correct. I am positive that Qwee has more experience at this than I do, and the other two guys might also.
Thanks for the great answers. With 99% AFK I didn't mean that I don't watch what the bot is doing from time to time, I'd just like to run the bot without any problems. I've read a couple of threads where I saw people which leveld there new toons in like 7 days and I was like wow because I've never done that before in such little time. I was just wondering what they were doing different. I totally agree with you guys that running the bot 24/7 isn't a good idea at all, I'd just like to be able to run the bot in my school time with no worries that it's going to get stuck at a quest or something else. (I know that the profiles aren't 100% perfect yet)
TBH before this increase in bannings, you could literally bot 24/7 and even name yourself "imabotreportme", while getting reported multiple times and still not get banned at all. So that makes the term "professional botter" kind of meaningless you know? I would know because I've abused it alot, not caring to get banned. Maybe not on that large a scale but I've been very obvious at times. And I've also seen alot of complaints about nothing being done on the blizz forums. So yeah, to all those people that are like "omg I know what I'm doing ive been doing it for a long time now!". That's just LOL.
HB Relog helps a ton, if you wanna do AFK. It your WoW client crashes or HB crashes. It will start it back up for you. It is your friend.
