Hi all, I used to bot all the time back in Wrath and even in Cata - I stopped playing in MoP and have only just started it back up again. I am reading all over the forums that it's simply a no-no to use Gatherbuddy and farm ore/herbs etc... I thought of all things this was the safest way to use the bot. Other people are saying it's asking for an insta-ban to bot BGs, to grind, etc. What has happened recently that has made everyone afraid to well... use the bot for what it was made for?
Problem 1 : Lots of botters using the same public profile. all it takes are 3 players that report them and poof, they're gone. Problem 2 : BG's swarmed with bots. The one or 2 real players getting annoyed to shit and report all of em... unless you're a healer and follow them. Problem 3 : Flooding the AH. Speaks for itself. using the bot daily since wotlk, no ban here. Just no excessive use.
So from what we know, it isn't Gatherbuddy or BGbuddy or anything that in itself is detected, it is merely there are more bots and people are being reported? If I were to bot and avoid all player reports, I'd be just as safe as I was farming 18 hours a day in Wrath (theoretically)? I know we don't know for sure but does that sound about right?
