Might I suggest people act with caution with the newly announced (and currently beta testing) of the new Battle.net Desktop Client. I wouldn't put it past Blizzard for them to include a sweep of your machine on installation files and information being submitted back to them... Blizzard have gotten down and dirty before - they may do it again.
Id enjoy hearing from someone who got it in the beta and see if it asks you to accept any ToS, and copy and paste it on pastebin or something. I highly doubt they'd have some kind of warden outside of WoW/D3/SC2 in their new launcher. It would be redundant and already in WoW so some kind of security re-do would have to be done. I've played plenty of games where there's some kind of anti-cheat on startup but I don't think it should be a worry at this stage. Yet like you said I wouldn't put it past them.
I got a beta invite. Here's what it shows for me: You need to register and have one post to see spoilers!
perhaps in this way? You need to register and have one post to see spoilers! HTML:
walloftext
Pastebin is a good site. I would bet though most of that is a reiteration of what's in all of their other ToSes.
I terms of Legalese (Legal Jargon Speak)... This part still concern's me. and also this from the existing ToS associated with your WoW License which can be found here: Blizzard Entertainment:World of Warcraft Terms of Use What the 2nd part means is; the fact they send you an email telling you why they ban you, is merely a courtesy. They can suspend your account at their whim. We as customers have no expectation of rights or ownership to our account(s).
The first part has long been inside of WoW's ToS. It's basically making us accept the presence of Warden, which Honorbuddy strives to detect and protect itself against.
Is this the end? Is this the proper time to move along? Jk i still bot 24/7 and i dont care about the future. I will bot the f**k out of my accounts until they ban me and force me to cry in the phone support
I agree with this. If I pay $15/mo now, and they ban me... I'll just open another account and continue. I should clarify my pervious post. It still concerns me from a privacy standpoint. I could care less if they ban my account. What I don't like is that they continue to monitor any and all process I have running on my computer.
I am in and using it right now, No ToS or anything were prompted to be accepted. YAR has had no problems launching the bot / D3 from the directory I have it in so far.
So I opened WoW using my main account using this beta launcher, and then I opened my bot account on the other screen using the wow.exe.... And then after I opened HB, it didn't even ask me which toon I wanted to load. It defaulted to the bot acct. So does this mean HB is unable to load if I am using that beta launcher?
I've heard that the new launcher launches the 64-bit client only (as long as your OS supports 64-bit.) and HB doesn't support 64-bit.
