On a scale of 1-10 how risky is it to bot currently?

It is always 1 - 10, since everyone thinks of risk differently. I got me banned 500 accounts over years of gold farming and selling, and i thought always risk is 10 :)

It's always risky to bot. If you don't want to lose your account, don't do illegal stuff on it. Tripwire activating is not a good thing, but it's not a bad thing either. It means that Blizzard is looking at you, but Honorbuddy is closing the curtains, so they can't see what kind of naughty stuff you're doing.

Here is something for you I wasnt even running the bot, only had it attached as I was botting and read this so I stopped this while I went out as I didnt wanna go afk botting.

Came home and found wow shutdown and checked the logs and seen this.. Haha I think it would be a false alarm considering the bot wasnt completely running to send whatever code I read about in another forum back to the server, right??

I think they were just randomly scanning you. I don't know exactly how The Warden works, but I think it scans random people at random times. If so, I don't understand why WoW is getting shut down as well, when the tripwire triggers, normally the user wouldn't notice The Warden at all and just carry on with their diddly daddleing and if Honorbuddy doesn't inject anything into the WoW client, there shouldn't be anything for the warden to detect if the bot is not running, should there ?

Someone with experience can reply to that one, but I understand that I had it attached but like you said I don't think Honorbuddy would of been injecting anything for the tripwire to be tripped. Therefore I believe I am going to be okay.. + devs have said its still safe to do so. Just thought that part of my log would of been interesting for them to read that It was stopped when it was triggered.. Haha

I am the OP, Ive never joined before because i haven't needed to..... You think i wrote that log myself? I REALLY aren't that sad... and i aren't a guy.

So.... i hit the tripwire, does that mean i am safe to continue botting or not?

Happened to me tonight during a LFR raid on my hunter. Wow and Honorbuddy completely shutdown instantly both at the same time.. Checked log, got tripewire message.

I was using Tyrael bot base with Tuana's Hunters routine.

Well I think it's great news. It means the Tripwire detection system works. :)

I think we'll have to see. Are all these tripwire people going onto a list for a mass perma ban 30 days from now, or did 'tripwire' actually work as advertised (if so, then bossland devs are the sh!t!). I think it's a real concern that this is happening. None of us know the inner working of tripwire so we just have to go with what the devs say. That happens to be "all is well", "nothing to see here", "these aren't the droids you're looking for".

And lets say tripwire IS working as intended... WOW has logs, the same as HB. I'm sure Blizz will notice that when the Warden starts to do it's thing, WOW shuts down immediately. I imagine that will put our accounts on some sort of list for special attention. What if their new detection is to trip tripwire? It's kind of like astronomers searching for planets outside our solar system. The astronomers don't look for the planets. They can't see them. They look at the stars to see if they are wobbling from the gravitational pull or at the brightness/dimness to see if a planet has passed in front of it. Perhaps the devs should just shutdown HB, unless they need to shutdown WOW also because shutting down HB doesn't clean its footprints out of the wow memory space?

This is all 100% conjecture of course.

All that being said, i'm about to fire up my bot for leveling.

WoW crashes or you can accidentally close it down all the time suddenly? I get kinda point, but it would be hard to track everytime wow was accidentally and comparing it to HB shutting it down if that is even possible on Blizzards side of things.

I have all the same concerns, but to be honest couldnt care to be honest. It will suck on my main account as its 8 years old but its that easy to create a new one and start fresh.. 2 weeks max and you'll be at raiding tier again so Im happy to sit and see whats happening.. Like you I fired my bot up after about 20-30minutes of manual leveling after my trip wire was tripped lol. For all blizzard knows it was a simple disconnect of the internet! lol

EDIT: But saying that I will not open up my GB2 for a little while.

Why should it be hard to track? Where is the problem? The instant disconnect is maybe easier to track then a look at the log they want to get from the client. It is like an off button for a bot. It you use the tripwire at a normal player nothing happen. If he disconnects in under 1 or 2 sec after sending then it is 99.99% a bot? so tell me what is the problem for blizz?
