Highest I've ever had is 50k. But, yes, I'm definitely feeling the pinch.

I'm currently using Phelon's Gatherbro and I must say, it works very very well. Might be a good idea to put your heads together on this and see what you come up with. If you need help testing, pm me and lmk. I can write profiles and test as needed. Good luck! I do agree we need an alternate for GB2.

What about people with Jeeves?/Blingtron? I'm not saying anyone have them but as a human "xD" i use Jeeves to deposit items in my bank and repair my items "sometimes i repair with the mammoth too"
anyway if you plan to implement this and need a tester just pm me

Phelon and I have been talking :)

I don't need any testers at this stage. And as for profiles, if you've been following this thread from the start you'll know Farmer Joe does not use profiles.

Seeking ideas on node navigation .....

As you may, or may not be aware, Farmer Joe does not use profiles in the same way GB2 does. Well, mostly not, it uses node maps. Essentially it creates a map of every valid node it sees, this is done either during "Discovery Mode" or when you are out harvesting. These node maps are saved per zone, they are used by Farmer Joe to determine where to navigate to, where to find the nodes.

Unlike GB2 Farmer Joe does not have a set path. There is an option called "Node Navigation Type" (description may change), this is where you tell Farmer Joe HOW to navigate and what order to do this. The choices are Randomized: it picks a node location at random and moves there. Closest: find the closest node location to your current position. Most Times Harvest and Least Time Harvested, based on collected statistic and the number of times you have harvested from this node location.

So, what other options could be added to this?

EDIT: For clarification. Once a node location has been visited it is removed from the "active list", Farmer Joe will not visit the same node location more than once per cycle. Once all nodes have been visited the cycle starts over again and the active list is repopulated.

I, personally, can't think of any other ways. What you've listed sounds like what I normally do when I gather anyway. I just fly around looking for nodes, and when I find one, I fly to it and gather it. Sometimes it's the closest, sometimes it's a pretty far distance away. I do have a question, and it's about your "Discovery Mode". When using this "mode", does the bot fly around making a map of nodes it finds, or does it harvest while discovering? Chances are it records while harvesting, I'm sure. I was just curious. I've used addons that record as you fly, and some that only record once you fly to the node and harvest it.

Discovery Mode: When this is turned on the botbase does not navigate to, or land and harvest nodes. It records the locations of nodes and adds them to the zone map, you are responsible for flying, harvesting etc. Let say you want to harvest in Twilight Highlands and a node map does not yet exists for this zone; once you reach the zone, you turn on Discovery Mode and fly around the zone once or twice, all this time the node locations are being recorded. Farmer Joe does not attempt to harvest the nodes while in discovery mode. Alternatively, you could do it another way... instead of using discovery mode you could fly to the 4 corners of the zone map and hit "Add Node Location" button, this simply adds a fake node location.

When discovery mode is turned off Farmer Joe will navigate to the node locations and harvest them appropriately, and with the setting Add New Nodes turned on, all newly discovered node locations are added to the zone map. So your initial 4 point node map is now populated with every new node it sees.

I hope this is not too confusing.

Clearly I just dove into the end of this thread lol. Glad you guys are working on something to give us an alternative outside of gatherbro (which is great as I mentioned)

No, it's not confusing at all. You control all movement in discovery mode while the bot documents node locations on its map. Once you've made your passes, you switch modes, and the bot takes over for you. There's a setting that allows you to record new nodes while the bot is running and harvesting, so it expands your map node locations.

You already have an alternative outside of GatherBro, its GatherBuddy2.

Seeking ideas on a shopping list type of function....

My idea, when I want to make gold I look at whats selling for the highest price on the AH, I then have my farmer gather in an area that has those herbs / ore.

But, what if you had a single large node map, each node had the herb/ore name, zone name (and ID) ... and various other required stuff ...

Lets say you want to gather X quantity of Silkweed and X quantity of Snow Lily. So from the UI you select Silkweed & Snow Lily, it show this is available in 3 zones, so you limit the zones to a specific one of your choice, this now leaves you with X number of nodes where Silkweed and Snow Lily were found in the specific zone you selected.

So you hit Start and it only farms in that zone for those herbs. Or, maybe you want to broaden things a little and you include an additional zone.

      What do you think?

sounds neat, personally.. i'd love a feature that would enable me to type X amount of a specific kind of herb.. and then X amount of another..
would make shuffle's alot easier aswell :S to have a "clean" amount of mats :)

While I personally think its a good idea, I'm not sure how everyone else will feel about it. And there is no point creating a feature like this is its not going to be used.

well ... a feature where i can set the ammount of each herb / ore ... so i know at the beginning ... when it is finished i can craft x flasks of this and y potions of this ... nice :) but all in all ...
after gathering the stuff, most people go to craft flasks/potions and everything else that is not needed, will be sold at the ah... but yeah nice idea to have not that much overload of mats
