      Crashes on startup.

When I try and submit the error, it comes back ''ERR This application has submitted too many reports'.

      :p

Is any log at all generated by HB? Can you check event viewer and see if any module crashes are logged in app or system?

Curious if it has to do with something .net related in 8.1.

A little off-topic, but 8.1 is a joke in a nut-shell... Windows did not bring back the "Start" menu and the "Metro" desktop is so cluttered, clumsy and useless. The "Classic Start" menu was the best idea since Windows 3.1

It's quite possible. I don't know if you have Win8 or not but .Net Framework is a windows feature at this point, so they might have moved it around again or otherwise. I didn't see any changes of this nature in the news though, but there's some security "enhancements" that might be interfering so I might try disabling defender just to check.

It is surprising how they can easily defend on the removal of the start menu. No matter how much I've tried trying to use the Metro it was simply a pain and very counterproductive. Having to tab or arrow over to things is indeed a mess. This update is mainly for businesses and minor things that should have gone with the initial release.

You have no idea how excited I am for more Internet Explorer updates. Now that it syncs across my computers, I may finally try to disable it this time!

The ONLY problem with metro is people that did not use the start menu correctly in windows 7 are now not using metro correctly.

You have your most used apps in metro (You can edit/organize it very nice) for everything else, you type like you should have done in windows 7

For example, if I want to go to the control panel..

      > Windows Key.
      > Type 'con'.
      > Hint enter.

I dont know how they could make it any better/easier.

Hit Start or Win Key -> Control Panel.
A keyboard click and a mouse click. Or 2 mouse clicks.

If I want something in the control panel in Metro:
      Win Key
Type in like Time for example.
Arrow down TWICE or click settings, and I might fight what I want after looking through it. My start menu gives me 3 very relevant options in 1 key and a word.

I've yet to find anything faster, or a need to use the Metro outside of games or using one of the apps for an unholy reason.
