Actually, there was at one time a stint which you loaded the routine into, which then forwarded it to the bot core. You could stop/start the stint without closing HB, as well as change routines. I haven't seen it on the forum in quite some time. I am sure it is outdated and would need some love to bring it back to life, but it would accomplish what you want.
