Probably capable in the long run. Apoc has stated that they're working on getting the core bugs hammered out and learning more about GGG's anticheat system before implementing more features.

Maps are high on our priority list, however there's a lot of hurdles and config issues to handle first. (We don't even have the ability to kite things yet, that is a requirement for maps, as well as a whole slew of things related to map mods, and logic changes.)

Again, we'll work on it ASAP, but it's below quite a few other major issues right now.

They are rewriting EB . Currently not all the functionality that was in the bot back then is implemented . Once they are done with the core features , im sure they will manage to finish this in no time .

Sounds good, right now it's extremly slow to bot for levels at 80+.

How did you get to 80+? I had never played the game before, I tried it and I fell in love with it. But botting you have to quest manually and the default profiles aren't too clear on where to go at each level.

I've been playing the game for about 5 days now, it's pretty complex compared to others of the same genre. Thanks for the tip though, did it already!

1 big tip I would say, have a character direction for your character, don't just make one if you don't know what your doing. It will be fine for a while but once you get into the meat of the game unless you have a pretty specific type of character your probably going to get smashed on a regular basis, and at that point the only thing you can do is wait for them to reset the skill tree and this isn't beta anymore so good luck on that happening again.

Bump. Any estimate of when maps will be supported?

GGG are clearly using a heuristic-based approach to catching cheaters. If you look at how people play the game, I think it's pretty rare that people actually prefer grinding the standard zones over doing maps - maps are fun. If I were GGG I would have raised suspicion of any characters that had maps in their stash, are above level 70 or so, and clear the same zone more than a couple times in a row. Map support is more than just preference; it is anti-anti-cheat. I don't consider the bot to be safe to use on 70+ characters until map support is added.

That being said, I am extremely pleased with this bot. Well worth the money. Keep up the great work. Also, huge props to pushedx for being on top of the forum; that guy deserves a raise.

My current opinion/perspective on the matter is that maps should be taken care of in a bot dedicated to only doing maps. All that means is that rather than doing it in GrindBot7, it'd be in MapBot.

The problem I've been seeing lately with what we have is trying to add back new features, without breaking what's there, on top of having to use old code that doesn't really work the way it should in the new bot. GB7 was made to use our new input API to address the flag/ban issues so we at least have something that worked. It mostly works, but the problems it has are more design related rather than just implementation specific bugs.

We still have some big design issues to overcome for the future of EB. The way we do CRs is a problem because we are starting combat at times we shouldn't be. Pathfinding issues continue to be an issue because there's no easy way to go about it as everything has shown to have issues. The old A* code we had worked, but was slow enough to where we can't use it that much. The new RD code is way faster, but is exhibiting some issues with the data we're trying to give it, which is causing random lockups. Since the game pathfinding data dynamically changes, there's the issues then of things to take care of (doors, large chests, etc... for LoS).

Those are just the bot specific issues. For maps, you'd want really specific CRs that don't do the things Exile does. There's some basic combat mechanics needed such as kiting, getting into LoS without face hugging a mob, and just general shoot-and-scoot things that we don't have done yet that are probably must for maps. You would want to do way better targeting and handling the mob affixes so you don't just sit around and die to a zerg of enemies either.

The only thing stopping people from trying to make maps work right now is the lack of API support for creating them. If anyone is interested in trying to make map logic and whatnot, we can certainly move that up priority wise, since that's why the Party API was just updated/added; someone wanted to do stuff with it, and the API is something we really try to keep updated and in order. However, without any docs or guides, and given a lot of people aren't that familiar with coding things the way we do, I'd suspect there'd be too much frustration trying to work things out.

It's because of this, map support hasn't been addressed yet. If you look at the problems the bot has in non-map areas, and how it can struggle at times, I think those issues would be devastating for maps. You can still take the bot there manually and run them, but in terms of looping and choosing maps to make and whatnot, there's a whole bunch of really specific logic that deserves it's own bot for simplicity and efficiency. I know we'll get there eventually, but with a game this dynamic that changes as much as it does, where there's a lot of things to handle in the client, some things are just going to take a lot more time than we'd like to offer.

Well put. I'm always looking forward to the progress shown in the beta branch. Keep up the good work.
