      Dear fellow botters,

This post is about the WOW Launcher, which still can be omitted to run WOW, but the way it looks now, soon that will be over.

The new Diablo release (coming March), as well as Hearthstone (beta), do not run without the launcher.

No reason to think that Blizzard won't put WOW under the same regime ..

So, the question now is : to what extend is Bossland working on this issue and are they "dissecting" this new launcher, just to be ready when the proverbial shit hits the fan?

Or will we - suddenly - be unpleasantly surprised with a massive ban-hammer? due to the high sophisticated detection system (if at all) within that launcher?

Just some thoughts for the sake of continuity of using HB ....

      Happy botting :)

What makes you think that the launcher adds some sort of security measure to wow? Many of us have been using the launcher since they added the ability to run 32-bit wow from it, and it's worked just fine for us.

No "big deal" .. just ventilating some concern about the new way of launching WOW.

The key-word you use is "think" .. I'm not sure either, hence the question.

And the fact that you use the new launcher undetected, doesn't mean anything.
If I were Blizzard, I'd not act yet, until the entire community is on the launcher and then <zap>.

Again, no "big deal", but I don't trust that launcher.
Agents are being invoked, with "listening ports" even.

Perhaps the devs have put it under the necessary scrutiny.

Many thanks for your reaction :)

You really should give up botting. Your paranoia is not healthy.

Also, you should thicken up your tin hat. That may help you keep your wow account as well.

I like to launch WoW by the .exe because it's quicker and not concerned as a security measure. I just hate launchers everything has to be a monopoly.

It's kind of annoying to deal with when you have multiple accounts

At least german laws do not allow to scan for programs running outside of the game or scanning harddrives. The game industry wants to do that of course, but its illegal.

So if they want to detect a bot they have to do it in game.

same. Only thing i ever like a launcher for is easy access to patch notes. Usually nothing but adds to buy more crap for every game.

Interesting how some people jump into 'defense mode' when certain subjects are being discussed.

      "paranoia/stop botting"...
Your reactions are totally out of line, given the serious line of my original post.

But I should have known better .. no point starting any discussion on this forum.
Has nothing to do with paranoia or whatever other nonsense you may come up with.

Either the Boss-clan closes discussions before any satisfactory level has been reached, or hot-headed people start flaming.

      Pity though ..

      Whatever.. close this nonsense.

Serious line of your original post? Your speculating on something you know nothing about. You are presenting what-if scenarios.

Here's another few what-if scenario for you....

What if HB can be detected at any time it interfaces with wow? What if blizz has already detected each and every one of us that bot and is simply waiting for some magic number before they drop the hammer?

or here's a couple more what if's you may enjoy...

What if Blizzard is only adding the launcher to add convenience for the millions of non-botter accounts they have? What if Blizzard does things and adds new features that aren't specifically added to catch cheaters?

Which situations seem more likely to you? If you answered the first set of what if's, botting is not for you.

You're getting flamed because your original post makes you sound like don't leave your house for fear that aliens are watching you. Normal people keep their unrealistic paranoia to themselves for fear of being laughed at. If you're going to present unrealistic situations in a public forum, cinch your belt up and be prepared for people to tear what you say apart.

The question is now what if they add this, the question is will HbRelog work with the launcher? as far as i know one must win it with the wow.exe so far, and if the launcher gets force people using 4 billion account must start every account manually, but then i have not used HB for more then 6 months this might have changed.
