I've been thinking about this for awhile. I know Blood DKs are the best for grinding instances, mobs, etc. Well, I have a 90 on a very populated Horde realm and another 90 on a very populated Alliance realm. I have the full plate heirloom set with upgrades and want to put them to good use instead of the one character I used them with to level as I haven't gotten around to collecting leather heirlooms. I really need to get leather heirlooms as I plan to make a Hunter, Rogue, Druid, and Monk. I don't care for cloth wearers or Warriors much with the exception of Titan's Grip because wielding 2 2H weapons is cool. Anywho, besides rare spawns being up longer, less player reports for grinding BoA items (pets and mounts). Aren't items in AH generally worth more as well because there's less supply for an item that is in demand such as Netherweave Bags? I guess it depends how much of what is farmed on that particular server. The main idea is to take advantage of the title, pets, and mounts that are hard to get because of timers or you have to spend a long time in one place grinding. The other reason is because I would never plan to use this character to raid and maybe arenas, but highly doubtful so a ghost town is fine and preferred anyway. I figure certain BoA items cost the same amount of currency whether low, medium, high, full, or locked so why not get the most per hour for your botting by using a low population server where the demand may be high and supply low. Hands down a Blood DK with optimized 528 LFR or 496 Timeless Isle gear would be the most efficient mob farmer, right? I just mentioned gear that's very quick to get once you are 90 and assuming comparatively to every other class in terms of farming. To further optimize my farming, I would later spend valor to upgrade the items and all that mumbo jumbo. What other benefits can you think of that I missed? Feel free to correct anything I've said as well
With cross realm zoning it doesn't matter what server you're on, you'll see tons farming mobs still. As for AH, there isn't a benefit, botting pumps out tons of whatever mats you farm, if no one is buying whats the point?
I forgot about cross realm zoning. I thought it was removed or at the least didn't apply to every server.
They dont apply to RP servers. The Venture Co is a good example. I got every spirit beast in less than an hour one evening.
I play on an RP server and yes there is x-realm zoning; Most of the time the zones are dead as fuck anyways (my server is dead as shit). As for the AH on a low pop server: stuff is hard to sell for a decent price (sky golems are listed for as low as 18-20k and still dont sell).
My main is on one of the highest Pop servers, and were considered LUCKY to sell a Sky Golem at 18-20k....16k is the norm. Just because the pop is "low" or "high" doesn't mean shit in WoW when it comes to the AH
Are there any normal servers that don't have CRZ? I know the RP servers are usually more populated since there's less of them. I prefer a server that is literally a ghost town.
