I know alot of people will stop playing now that hb is dowsn for a few days but dont just stop just leave the game running and alt tab ever 5 or so mins to stop from being booted or even just sit in org ant talk to guildies Blizz knows that when they patch Hb also hasto update meanaing people who just outright stop dring this time period account may be flagged for investigation Have fun and safe botting
I dont think its that outlandish. If your already flagged I see this as a possible factor to move you to the top of the list but i don't think it will get you flagged on its own.
How would they filter out the people that actually are not playing and people that are not playing because HB is down. Stop breathing please.
It can serve as another way to flag accounts and confirm suspicions... As an IT Administrator I utilize several methods to investigate computer issues and logs so this is not some theory. Just dont bot AFK, and if you do THOROUGHLY test it simple as that.
They could, technically, hire a GM for every account opened and follow you (they're usually just floating around placed being invisible). They could also stand outside your house and ask you if you bot. Sure, a surplus of people may not be playing and they might be able to add some kind of "possible botter" flag, but then how on earth would they sort it? What would they do? There's absolutely no way to filter out the thousands upon thousands of people who just didn't get on yesterday. From my understanding the server side detection only really relies on outlandish behavior, like playing for an inordinate amount of time in the same area or flooding the AH, or of course player reports.
