Hi there, Recently formatted and re-installed windows 8. After installing WoW, Visual Studio C++ and all that stuff (32bit and 64bit), and a fresh Honorbuddy, i get this error when trying to launch: Any ideas on how to fix this? Ive tried various versions of VS C++ but all have the same problem. Cheers.
dont use the installer. Download the latest version of honorbuddy. http://updates.buddyauth.com/GetNewest?filter=Honorbuddy Then do a clean install into a new folder. Do not reinstall over a previous installation or move items from the old installation into the new one.
Still having the same problem. It's Windows 8 Enterprise N edition, so may be missing something else fundamental that I don't know about. No logs are generated so I have nothing to attach.
Ok well I've followed the instructions in another thread that had the same problem, removing all the .net installs and VC++ redists etc and then restarting, then using the Buddy Install Wizard thing and still nothing, but now its started generating error logs atleast. your not running the bot from a network share or anything weird like that are you? it needs to be on the local machine.

Sorry just saw your message haha. Been busy. I'm still on 8.1 and I've PM'd you my Skype. I live in New Zealand so our timezones may not match correctly for teamviewer but we can try :/
OK so Skyped and TeamViewered with Tony, and still no luck. We came to the conclusion that because I was using a pirated version of Windows 8.1 Enterprise N, it must have been missing something fundamental to the .NET framework and related files that was causing Honorbuddy itself to do nothing, and the launcher to error/crash. So for anyone suffering the same problem, do what they've suggested in this thread, and it should help you Thanks a lot Tony & Co for all your help, information and effort. Tony spent a good 30 to 45 mins trying to fix it via Teamviewer, that's some of the best product support I've ever had (I have now gone back to using my legit purchased copy of Windows 7 and will create a new thread if I am still having problems)
