      Hey there,

to make a long story short, I observed changes in the file "Protected Items.xml" and I don't know where they come from. I assume that you folks at bossland rework the file from time to time - and that's the point where confusion starts. Since I add my entries in the same file, there will be two different files after a while. Every time this happens I lose gold and time. Here is my suggestion:

Would it be possible to have a user Protected Items file and an original one from bossland, that will never be touched by the user. The user file will have priority over the bossland one. In this way we wouldn't have any confusion. If a user doesn't work with this feature, fine, the bossland file still protect the standards, but if a user defined something in the user file, it will be protected. It would be really cool, if the user file could be located outside the root directory of hb, so it would be protected in case of reinstall hb. If this isn't possible no prob, the user could always keep a backup copy of the user file outside the hb root directory.

If there is any other solution to stop the confusion, please let me know.

      Thanks for listening

      Hi, FlyingEddie,

Yes, we do modify the ProtectedItems and ForceMail files as we find mistakes on them. This happens infrequently. Most of the changes come from new items introduced by patch content.

There is really no need to add such complexity to Honorbuddy itself as you suggest. Each time you modify ProtectedItems for your own use, squirrel away a copy of the entire file outside the Honorbuddy directory tree. Each time you update Honorbuddy, copy your file on top.

      cheers,

      Hi chinajade,

thanks for your reply and for your eye opener. To keep up the clean sorting of the list I inserted my stuff to where it belongs to, so it was nearly impossible to keep track of it. But why did I do that? No idea, maybe one of those dumb behaviors just to continue an existing template or matrix without over thinking it. Thank god there is chinajade who gives you the necessary bang to wake up :)

      Greetings
      Eddie
