      Hello,

First off, I am not trolling, I have a legit problem with HB. I know how to take n SVN file and use it thanks to CodeGamma's exceptional YouTube video!

Anyway, my issue is taking a .xml file and adding it to my HB folder for profiles. Hopefully this is a very simple fix, but I have yet to either download one, let alone use it for farming rep, professions, etc...

I have the default (recommended) HB folder saved on my desktop and have every SVN profile I currently use in the "Default Profiles" folder within my HB folder. Hopefully that clarifies any skepticism toward my knowledge and current use of HB. Note: i DO understand bot bases and profiles and how to use HB itself. Again, simply having a problem with adding a profile that is a .xml.

Sorry for any repetition, I just want to make sure everything is explained. Thanks in advance!

The download location of the profiles doesn't really matter as Honorbuddy will ask for the location of any profile you want to load. It's common to see people have some kind of "Honorbuddy Profiles" folder to keep all of their collected profiles safe and tidy. I say this because there may come a day when you have to reinstall Honorbuddy, and then you could lose the "Default Profiles" folder.

I don't quite understand what you mean by "adding a profile that is a .xml", as you said you have all of the profiles you want in the "Default Profiles" folder. Once you have a desired profile, you just hit the "Load Profile" button and search for wherever you downloaded it to and Honorbuddy will be ready to go.

i know exactly what they mean. i was totally lost when i first started here.

hb runs several different modules (lack of a better word)

1 HB client-shell program that accesses all the different modules
2 botbase- This determines your meta actions. raiding, gathering, professions
3 CC or CR- this is your spec/rotation handler
4 profile- this provides your botbase with specific instructions. 'go here, do this'

you will need the HB client. It comes standard with 'Singular' your default CR (combat routine) It also comes with stock botbases. Gatherbuddy2 for gathering, professionbuddy-complicated version with more features for gathering and professions, bgbuddy for battlegrounds and so on.

profiles come in .xml format. not really necessary to know why, just know they are an instruction set required by the botbase.

first load HB, then choose your botbase. then click profile tab to give the botbase specific instructions. some botbases do not require a profile. such as bgbuddy but they do require setting up. YOU MUST CHOOSE DUNGEONS AND BG'S TO USE WITH THOSE TWO BOTBASES IN THE BOTBASE TAB.

^^simple instructions that are given in tutorials all over the forums, but i never knew to look for. most people dont look first either, dont feel bad.

download the profile file. stick it in a folder as suggested by Liferose (listen to that dude/chick, they know about stuff)
use the {profile} tab to load the profile. HB will tell you in the log window if you need a profile and dont have one loaded.

i realize you know about botbases and such, but many that read this thread wont. i hope it helps
