Well, to be perfectly honest with you, I don't think the free routines will be updated as quickly as the ones you have to pay for, unless it's the ONLY routine the author has made, and has intentionally made it free. The "premium" ones have a tendency to be updated quicker because they were paid for and require faster attention. The free ones are there to sort of give you an unlimited trial of what the premiums ones can do. I'm not totally sure of how many "free" routines are working right now aside from Singular, so just be aware that the pickings are slim. It's going to take a while before things get updated to the latest HB release.
I wouldn't expect them to be updated as quickly since they don't bring in revenue (other than the occasional donation.) I don't at all begrudge profile makers making a bit off their profiles, I just can't get behind $20+ per character. It's not worth it to me. More power to folks who can afford to buy em all
