      I admit I am not a professional botter. I'll also say that I am a professional programmer. I know that it takes time and effort to develop, debug and then constantly tweak & improve software. Are some prices too high? possibly. If you buy them and don't like then return them and get the money back.

      In the past I've donated to people here, I donate to addons at curse, heck I donate to wikipedia... I have no problem paying an asking price for these folks hard work, heck it makes it simpler for me, I don't need to decide what to donate - now it's a simple pass/fail decision. I admit to holding off buying stuff until after the patch and I see what the game is like but I fully expect to buy several things, including a couple more HB keys just to show my support for the product and the coders that make the profiles that make it great.

      I am a weekender that likes to play with the professional toys. Sometime I'd like to make my own stuff, but until I have the time to learn it all I'll pay someone that has already learned it.

      BTW - at my job we frequently hire people (consultants) to do custom programming we don't have the manpower to do... it's not uncommon to see them paid $400 - $500 PER HOUR to do the work and if it fails we get to pay them again to come back and fix it. And this is for work that is fully authorized & documented... HB is working around the back door with no documentation, no warning when things will change or what will change... Things change even between the code on the test realm and the code that is eventually released to 'production'. I salute you guys that make it all work as smooth as it does - so smooth that a non-professional botter like me can run it with little effort.

      Well I bought some of the expensive ones. Love them and hope the developer continue their work.

      Honnor buddy is kindof like Microsoft Excel - you get a working shell but you have to get spreadsheets to make it worth anything... you can download some spreadsheets for free and they work fine, or you can pay for the ones with massive or complex calculations or you can write your own.

      EDIT: No offense intended to any HB devs by making a comparison to microsoft!

      THIS perfect analogy frost!
      ----------------------------------------

      I will say I was a unaware that all my purchases were not good for the next Xpac, I thought WoD was included and it was refering to the next expansion oops, but it does seem the things I've purchased will be supported in WoD anyhow.

      supply and demand. Simple as that. Are there overpriced routines or plugins or botbases? Yes. Will they stay this expensive? No. If something is truly overpriced people do not buy it unless it is super rare (Vertu phones) or super hip (Beats by Dre headphones). Routines are neither.

      Leaves/Mirabis should actually increase the price.

      Awww I was really excited to see a post from Botanist regarding tomten2's narrow minded response. Srsly ppl if u don't wanna pay for it..Learn it. It's fairly easy to find a guide on this fourm to guide you along the way. It took me 1 day to learn how to tweak combat routines ,quest and gather buddy XML's. So before u start complaining about prices... LEARN it yourself !

      I don't think analogies work like that. I think it would have been better if he said like oven mitts, baking tray, cleaning bruss and etc.

      I mostly agree with you, Tuanha routines are state of the art, but I see a little flaw in logic... Tuanha routines started with monk first and in MoP, seems unlikely that you bought DK Routine (Custom Class back then) in Cata.

      Some people really don't understand how much time takes to develop most of the stuff on Buddy Store. I agree that making/customizing XML profiles for GB and PB is not so hard, but if you want to write a CR, a plugin, or a botbase, you have to learn C# first, be able to code what you have in your mind, to interact with HB and Windows API, create a GUI, create the logic, test it, fix it, give support to customers and so on.

      Again, if you don't like the prices, just do what you want by yourself, like a lot of people do.

      The other thing people need to remember. Millz has stated that the reason his BGfarmer is priced where it is, is to prevent what has happened with the standard BG buddy. 20+ bots per Battleground all running in sync.

      I am pretty sure Monk was his first.

      Just look at the creation date of the Combat Routine threads.

      Monk -> 14.10.2012 16:51

      Paladin -> 16.11.2012 10:40

      I don't really mind the high prices..

      Lowering the prices means that everyone will use those same profiles and routines.. higher detection risks, more problems with customers.. that wouldn't make sense from a developer perspective..

      A lot of rotations, bot and profiles simply are worth the price point.

      It doesn't make sense to think "but if you lower the price more people will buy the rotations and you will make more money", it doesn't work this way..

      If it was so simple luxury cars, high price houses wouldn't exist, right?

      The choice is to take money from less, selected people, or to take the same amount of money from a ton of people who often don't really care about botting.

      The choice seems really obvious to me..
