Excuse me for whatever stupid shit i'm about to write.

So i was just wondering if botting is relatively safe right now? i know it will never be safe and depends on how you manage etc heard it all before.

But i was curious since there's a pretty large patch that recently came out, and well blizzard maybe snuck something hidden from the patch notes that anyone has noticed?

      Or is everything normal?

Also.. excuse me if i'm posting in the wrong subforum.

Wow, learn to take a joke, buddy.

If you know it'll never be safe, why create a thread asking if it's safe? /facepalm

What's funny is the fact that he disclosed his knowledge that it's never safe to bot in his original post, yet goes on to ask if it's safe to bot anyway.

Someone knows not how to interact with people on a forum... :(

      THIS!

For the original creator of this thread... I hope a mod takes action against you for your complete disregard for respect on this forum. Better yet, close this thread..

Yeah, OP is being an asshat, but with the exception of Jordi, no one is being helpful.

OP's question is "Is the danger of banhammer any greater right after a large content patch?" I came here, because I'm wondering the same thing. Anyone have relevant insight?

Dont worry, they said they would advise us in a months time if it was safe. Enough time for most to totally forget they said that. I for 1 am shocked we didnt get ANY response from them about what happened *sarcasm off*

The reason why no one is being helpful (according to you) is because you guys aren't getting the answer you're looking for. It isn't, never has been, and never will be safe to bot. I've said it in other threads... there might come a day when simply firing up HB could result in a ban. There's no "safer" or "not as safe" time to bot. Acting like there's a time when it's better to bot than other times is giving people a false sense of security.

You should always bot with the thought that you will lose the account by the time you're done. If you're worried about safety, you care too much about the account and probably shouldn't be bottling anyway.

Rightrightrightrightright. We're not talking about GENERAL safety. We're talking about RELATIVE safety. It's always dangerous to bot, and every one who's been around the block knows that. The question at hand is "Is it any LESS safe RIGHT NOW than it would be, say... when an expansion ISN'T about to release?"

I've been botting since 2006, and I've learned that some methods of botting are LESS SAFE than others. Back in 2006, it was fine to grind an island just south of STV for epic shields 24/7. Now, you'd get the ban hammer if you did that. It's LESS SAFE to do that now than it is then.

I'm back from a hiatus, I have checked the ban forum, and then I piggy backed this thread in which OP basically asked "How does the coast look RIGHT MEOW?" The reason why no one is being helpful (according to me) is because I'm not getting the answer I'm looking for. I'm looking for answers like "It's about as safe/unsafe as it always is; We've noticed a high rate of banned accounts lately; 2 years ago there was a huge banwave right after expac; we have no information to say either way."

Seriously, what more needs to be said
There's no "safer" or "not as safe" time to bot.
Gatherbuddy owns you with waypoint bans, haven't tried RND addon.
Bot safe and be ready to lose your accounts if it happens...
Buy an account and try it out, is it that difficult?

You're an idiot. There is a safer time to bot. It's called detection with upcoming patches. Whenever they change their content honorbuddy has to change in some way. Not everyone can just buy another account.

Of course there is a safer time to bot. People who don't realize it are in denial with the excuse of "its never safe blahblahblah". Come on, be grown up boys. Stop using premade sentences that provide you with a FALSE sense of insecurity.

First, actual Hb version is a TEST Release. Go to the thread , and check the Currently Known Bugs list. It is far from working adequately, and further on, many of those bugs could be used to identify botters. In safety terms, TEST<BETA<Release. If you care about doing your best for your accounts to last, Do not bot until a release have been provided.

Second, many plugin authors refuse to update their work until a release is out, for changes could force them changing the addon again in no time. No one can blame them. Therefore, many addons that are intended to provide a safer environment by making you appear less bottish, reply to whispers, avoid other players, etc, are not working.

Third, the amount of people botting is lower than the usual amount by a huge margin. So, the GM's in charge of manually looking for botting accounts have a higher chance of grabbing YOUR accounts as there are not so many others in the pool.

In short, this is probably the less safe time to bot.
At the very least, wait for a Release to be out, and for safety, give it a couple weeks to clear bugs. And with the expansion arriving on a week and a half, it would be dumb beyond belief botting now and getting banned , when with the new expansion new profiles will come out, meaning some of their methods for identyfing account will become obsolete, lots of player back means a LOT of work for Gm's , so they can devote less to finding botters, and the price of gold is expected to raise substantially with the increased demand.
