Hey, I would like to know which classes you think are the best for doing a dungeon botting team. I'm going to make a new one and I'm not sure what to have as the tank and some dps.
Assumption: Botting MoP Dungeons My preference: Tank: Paladin DPS: All casters (they can stay far away from the tank and dps non-stop) Healer: Any (some people config their healer to dps until health drops below X then heal...this makes killing faster) I don't recall ever having a wipe in a MOP dungeon with a 5 man bot team. If you want specific buffs then choose the classes that have the buffs you want.
Thanks, really useful. Thinking of having prot warr, dpriest, lock, mage, hunter. How do i config the healer to dps until a certain health percentage? I was wondering about this, glad you said that to be honest haha!
Do you have data to back this up? My casters don't have any troubles. Hunter's are casters in my opinion.
Do I have any data to back that up? How about 5 minimum of each class at 90, all leveled through RAF. Mages/Locks are terrible dps at low levels. The faster a boss dies, the worse dps casters are. And you don't set your healers up to dps at all with WoD. If you stop healing on most bosses in dungeons now, your tank will die. You can go check damn never every thread that has qusetions about RAF, I give advice in almost all of them. You don't have to believe what I say, but I have the knowledge, experience and teams to prove that casters are not good at low levels.
@ryfobuddy - I think you missed my assumption (Assumption: Botting MoP Dungeons) I also botted a 5 man team via dungeons and individual questing. I didn't have any issues botting lower level dungeons with casters. The pace of leveling is extremely fast so debating this any further is useless for the OP.
Not when the OP is asking what the best setup for a NEW group would be. I didn't say casters have issues, I said their dps sucks compared to other classes, which in this case, it does. There's lots of responses in these forums showing that a 3 hunter, disc priest setup is the best for effectively dungeoning.
That will struggle a bit on the MoP dungeons. Some of those fights go better with a bit of melee mixed in. But really, almost any viable 5 man team does OK. My favourite mix is Frost Mage, Marksman Hunter, Retribution Paladin, Protection Warrior and Holy Priest.
Just to add to that hunters are also best for questing speed wise. But yea I have plenty of teams and I do mix of casters and melee just like Hawker and the DPS is just as good.
It doesn't struggle in any way shape or form. It's the exact team I have farming as I'm typing this message.
Then I stand corrected I do like to have a second toon that can rez in any team so if I had your setup I'd have a pally tank.
Im leveling a group right now to 90 currently they are lvl 55 at 23 hours played no xp gear at all or raf. Im keeping track of the info on text doc ill post when they hit 90. using Warrior tank 3x beast hunters and 1 Disc healer
3 hunters, since they wont require any healing at all. Blood dk for tanking(after 55, heals himself with offheals from your balance druid or discpriest), warrior if not. disc priest or balance druid set to dps until someone in team hits 60% hp. This carries best if you're gonna use the team to farm random heroics at 90, since pretty much all trash mobs die in 1-2 seconds with hunters. melee would take too long getting in range, casters have to cast etc, hunters with blink strikes talent dont have this problem, and your blood dk will heal himself when he's in 550 pvp gear. such a shame that you have to have someone queued up as healer, both priest and druid are horrible dpsers in randoms. Not sure if it's possible to queue a retri pala as a healer though, that might work best then.
i agree 100% i had troubles with melee taking too long to start attacking hunters just straight up pwn at lower levels and are not too terrible at higher levels either
Actually i'm doing right now, 1x Warrior 1x druid guard 3x druid feral Let's see how it will without heirloom ^^ Also wich routine will you recommend for thems ?
My fav. and pretty much the only team that I have ran for the last 6 months. Scrapped the Shammy as Heals and swapped him to Ele once I realized that the Tank could no die in the 550+ gear any longer, so I roll them all as DPS with self heals. Tank= Druid Guardian DPS1= Ret Pally DPS2= BM Hunter DPS3= Enhance Shammy DPS4/Healer= Ele Shammy
I do all DPS/Healer. 2x Hunter 1x Mage 1x Druid Heals 1x Unholy Death Knight - set the combat routine to choose blood presence so it keeps aggro, also set it's role to tank so it pulls.
