Hello fellow botters. This is the first launch of an expansion that i've played whilst having a bot. So my question for the more experienced botters are; How is the security like around launch? By that I mean, does Blizzard keep an extra eye open for bots on launch? If I had to guess, that seems reasonable. But as i said, i have no experience of it.

Thanks in advance, and see you out there tonight!

      This thread is nonsense.

You bot on an account, where you don't care if it would get banned. Everything else is stupidity. It's simple.
Everytime people asking how high is the chance of getting banned, is this more unsafe than this....all bullshit, if you care about the account, don't bot on it.

If you would think about your question you would have come to a pretty simple answer:

Of course it is more unsafe during launch:

      - overcrowded areas
      - profiles are new/untested, chances of stucks are higher
      - custom classes may have bugs
      - honorbuddy still may have bugs that cause unwanted behavior

All in all chances of getting reported are of course way higher.
Beside that everything else is guessing. We can assume that during the first days/week there is a higher number of gamemasters and technical staff available, in case of problems.

You're bullshit. Ofc bot will get banned anyway. And ofc you CARE or would u bot if bot lasts only a day? And if you have the choice to make bot last 1 day or 1 week what would you do? So dont talk abt you dont care at all for bot and its safety because THAT is bullshit mr. pseudo pro.

At launch AFK botting in the new zones will be akin to account suicide, if you are thinking about botting your main account unattended then don't. If you are doing the normal dungeon grind / old world grinds then you should be fine, I think it may be even safer considering so much attention will be set on Draenor.

I think you'd be pretty safe, as far as player detection, to grind level 90 MoP mobs or finish any of Kick's MoP quests that you might have using the bot. I know most of my bots did Cataclysm content till 87 and then used Kick's quests from 87-90 and was still in the Jade Forest when I hit 90 so I've got quite a few still to do which I will likely use to level up a bit. MoP dungeons might be ghost towns, but if ques aren't bad I'd feel safe botting those too. I'll be hand playing in Draenor on my main, but my bots will be staying in Panda land for a bit.

Have your guy gather and do archaeology in the old world until it's safe.

I've decided I'll be doing everything by hand, including all night/day farming until things calm down and there are stable/tested profiles up.
