Hi. I have been away from the scene a while and I am now back to check the expansion and noticed that Combat Routines are now paid. What happened?

I tried the default honorbuddy one, Singular, and it is buggy as hell and barely performs.

Is this a way to make us pay for Combat Routines?

I dont mean to upset anyone or cause problems, this is a genuine concern and I would not have any problems paying a monthly extra to have a full product, but charging 89 bucks as Tuanha is doing for a Combat Routine, I think this is pure greed.

Devs works should be rewarded of course, but the upfront value of it is way too much. I would rather pay 5 bucks a month than dish out all that in one go, without assurances that someone will do a runner 2-3 months down the line.

PS: This is not aimed at anyone in particular, that Combat Routine price was an example.

TuanHA's package for $89 includes all combat routines (currently 8), as well as any future routines he makes. Warrior and Druid are only available this way, but the rest you can buy for $15 each.
I haven't used anyone else's because his are the best imo, but I would imagine $10-$20 per routine is fair.

at first glance, yeah, your suspicions seem legit. but if you do further research, you will find the offerings at the buddystore are priced fairly.

basically you get what you pay for. Singular works well enough, and i have many profiles i am required to use singular just for how the combat integrates well with gatherbuddy and grindbot.

remember you are also paying for support and constant updates to the buddy store products. developers are serious and they sign support contracts to get their products listed.

In my experience, and I have tried a lot of classes/trials on CCs, Singular works best for:

      Leveling
      Questing
      Grinding
      Dungeonbuddy
      Gatherbuddy2
      Cleaning my house

and private CCs work better in:

      BGs
Botbases similar to Lazyraider, Enyo, raidbot and etc.

      Thanks for the replies.

So, the Tuanha ones are 89 for all, correct?
So why would the Druid and Warrior ones be priced at 89 each? Why not 15-20 like the others?

And what are the Special Editions, Pro Edition, Donor Edition, etc? It is confusing as on his website it seems a lot of different editions...

I totally agree with a Dev trying to monetise his work, after all its only fair. But it seems the development of the inbuilt Singular combat routine, was purposely stalled to make us do the change. A bit of a shame really :(

I will more probably buy the full package of Tuanha, though with a bitter sweet taste in my mouth due to Singular being very sub par at the moment.

tuanha CR are not currently listed in the buddy store. Do a simple google search "tuanha biz" and you will find what you need

Druid & Warrior are included WITH the full package deal of $89. This is because they are somewhat relatively new and it's all just marketing, man. You CAN'T buy Druid OR Warrior separately. There is no option to do so. TuanHA mainly cares for his premium users, obviously. He spends every day working a shit ton to bring each CR up to a near flawless setting. That involves leveling EVERY single character he has CRs for up to 100, and spending the time to completely optimize it for all specs, AND for both PvP and PvE. That is a LOT of work, and since the Druid & Warrior CRs are relatively new, TuanHA decided to keep them full package deal only TEMPORARILY until he knows both of them are worth buying separately.

I know it can all seem confusing, so I can see where you're coming from.

For the SE/PE/DE editions, it's all just two things: Free Edition and Premium. That's it. :)

      Thanks again for the clarification.

Also, one of my concerns is long term support. Will these Combat Routines be here for as long as Honorbuddy is?
I mean, will these be at least supported for this expansion and perhaps another one?

I would be very disappointed if buying the routines and the dev packed bags in 4-5 months, know what I mean?

Hopefully not because Tuanha seems to be around for a long time, but I do hope they have a minimum "contract" with us when we buy it.

All community developers that has/plans to sell stuff on the Buddystore signs support contracts. The very well known people who develops routines such as TuanHA and Millz is also hardcore WoW fans, you have to keep that in mind! :)

Coming from a guy who's used Tuanha's and Millz for much much longer than I've been even registered to these forums, I can safely assure you that both of those people are very well respected and trustworthy in my honest opinion. I don't come from a rich background, so buying things always go into HUGE consideration, and I haven't regretted the purchases from them not once.

Yeah I guess it is alright, I just hope they stick to their words and provide the support and updates. :)

What do you mean, another bot is around the corner?
As far as I know HB doesnt have that much of a real competition.

Ok, after a lot of time testing and comparing Combat Routines, I have to say that the quality of the free ones bundled with HB, took an abysmal nosedive. It is as if they are purposely being near-useless in order for us to buy the functional ones.

Shame, really displeased with how this turned out to be. I hope Tuanha can take control over all Combat Routines and launch a paid version that includes all routines and not just melee character ones. :(

I don't see the issue here. The free version of TuanHa are miiiiles better than Singular - and they're free. Most CRs even offer a trial period, so you can try them for like three days before deciding if they're worth it.
And he doesn't do bullshit limitations. Like, you can still have Full AFK settings with movements and such, but he may limit interrupting to only your current target and not all targets nearby. Yes Singular is crap, but it's designed to be something that works without bugs, not something that you can push damage meters with.
Personally I've used the free version of Demonic, Insanity, Portal and all of TuanHA for a long time, until a colleague and fellow botter bought them for me, because I built him some PCs. This was before trials, and had I had the chance to try them, I would've bought them anyway.

The problem with an all-in-one solution like Singular is that people want to do different things. Some want to quest, others want to PvP or raid. It's hard to code something for 34 different sub classes, and optimize them each for a different activity. We're also only about 3 weeks into the new expac, so people are still trying to find out what works best.

Bobby53 is the only dev working on Singular from what I understand, so it's a lot of code to maintain for 1 person. Go take a look in the Singular subfolder and you'll start to get an idea of how many lines of code are in there.

I disagree with the people saying Singular is 'good enough' and if you want something better, to go pay for it. I think the HB team should dedicate more resources to improving Singular, especially this early in the expac. If they spent the next 6-8 weeks revamping and optimizing Singular for WoD, it would be much easier for 1 person to maintain over the course of the next 2 years.

People posting here are having an idea I do not want to pay for routines, which is not the case. I am planning to buy Tuanhas pack because it covers most classes, though I am sad that it does not cover ALL classes.

But the point of the thread is that is seems on purpose that the bundled CRs are doing poorly, in order to get us to buy a proper one.

I think the guy or the team doing singular, could receive a well deserved funding from the buddy team, because to be honest without singular bundled the bot would be a very poor choice.

Singular is OK for an afk play, but if you want to do some questing or some raid pve, it does not deliver enough.

One thing that upset me now is the removal of the priest CR done by atilio, it was free before and now it is paid. :/
And 16 euros is a lot! 5 euros and I would buy in a heartbeat, but not 16, no way.
