Not sure what yall are complaining about with lag and broken bot. Mine works just fine, I have zero problems. As to the OMG WAI ISNT EVERYTHING FREE, be reminded that these profiles and whatnot that you're using take up peoples real time and effort to make. No one is forcing you buy any of it. Nothing in this world is free, nothing, someway, somehow you are paying for it. Everyone wants a damn handout Again as for the lag maybe check your own mess, because like I said I am getting none of what some of you are complaining about and I am on a shitty hotel connection. Edit: I put myself on a soapbox here, its hard to even come to the forums anymore because "general" forums is full of, this is broken or not working or stuck or whatever 10,000 reasons what is wrong. But it seems most likely that its a user error, as proven by our whining friend on the first page who is using the wrong version but complaining that its not working. And on top of that it seems like every single damn problem, no one attaches a --------LOG-------- Damn fellas, just do a little reading before you complain shit isn't working, its most likely a small issue on your side.
I am sorry i am not cheap i own 5 HB life time keys and have paid for at least 4 Buddystore profiles! I have not heard one reason why a starting out programmer who does not release a perfect product but more a hobby cart should be payed we live in a world where you pay for quality and items that work, not something that a person trys to achieve! I am a mature player that has money to throw around that why i run 10 wow accounts and don't sell gold but do it for fun! There are 5 items in Buddystore that's worth the money, and i have payed for them happily others don't belong there and the quality sucks, and just because a few fan boys are in this forums defending the creators does not mean its perfect and we are just complaining for the sake of it! I love this Bot and the community allot of people give there free time to help and create amazing profiles and routines, one example is Kevin or Mr Botanica who we lost recently to an illness, his work was out of this world quality and feedback wise! I will not speak about this again because i see people are getting upset instead of having an iteligent conversation!
Lagged botbases? Please explain what you mean by this. Would it not make it so that the developer would want to make a more polished product, thus causing the product it self to be more stable and more functional? I don't see why you would draw the assumption that a developer would not fix lag issues etc, in a product they are getting paid for. Does not seem logical.
Developers work hard to make the stuff your using. HB works perfectly fine without any premium plugins/bots etc. If you don't want to pay for some developers valuable time, then don't. Simple. Just because you "want it" does not mean it has no value. Either do not buy it... or learn to code and build one yourself. I strongly suggest you do that... then perhaps you will have a little more respect for the developers work.
And here we go again with one of these threads. Ok, I want to give you my view on this. I wanted to give all my work to the community for free, I was hoping that users that found my products fun and usefull was going to donate abit for it but alas I was wrong. I think I got 2 random donates from all my free work rest was requests where a user asked me to code a specific thing for them and they payed me for it. Now lets take ObjectGatherer as an example, that used to be a free product, now when I'm recoding it, the GUI alone took me over 2 months of my spare time to code. I've managed to get DataGridView to display information it was not designed to do, then with all the bugs that gets fixed and all the requests that gets added, don't you think I deserve to get paid for the work I do ? If you don't, then I sugest you take a crash course in C# then learn the honorbuddy API, then learn how to code plugins and botbases and then spend months on coding your program and then finaly after a few years I want you to release said program for free here on the forum and see how you feel about it when random user X complains that thing Y isn't working, your program sucks because Y isn't working, etc etc.
I don't have a problem with paying for projects from the buddystore if they are not bound to a specific buddyauth or are bug free. Sadly for the time that is not the case. When those projects were still free, I would just shrug it off, try to find the problem, report it and get it fixed. Now that I am paying for it, I don't see why I should donate my time to fix bugs if I pay for it.
Regarding that last part, remember you play not only wow - but belong to a forum which is majority kids who wouldn't play if they couldn't make the easiest faux mmo easier. I miss the days where these types of behavior would have you ostracized by the entire community. That said it was always super rare because real mmorpgs used to be a hobby not a dota/lol/fps/Xbox live type fix. Most and I say that liberally, would quit a real mmorpg almost instantly. Intelligent conversation is out. Selfish instant gratification and lashing out over the web due to being bullied in school is in since the web provides safety and anonymity for doing so. lots of scum. And thus is my rant for the day. More on topic a lot of the criteria which was put in place to combat some of the issues you cited seems to have been repealed or made lax. Intentionally or othewise. I agree a lot of what is up there is grossly overpriced and/or of subpar quality. That being said, as has already been mentioned, you should voice your disdain by simply not buying. Everyone is right online. Arguing will provide nothing but a headache
and most ppl also forget the developers at hand + buddy staff dont have hands on the code blizz produces sense what they do isent soported by blizz so everytime some variable changes its a suprise and stuff needs changeing. so yes stuff changes stuff breaks . hotfixes happenes that change specs and prioritys and the CR devs + buddy crew dont get advanced notice and are not in the blizzard loop of what changed and how it changed just that it changed. it takes time to get stuff sorted out and you forget they need to do that wile also trying to make sure the buddy products are as undetectble as humanly possible and will work flawless preferbly b4 the update even happens. talk about mission impossible if u dont want to soprt the CR devs then dont. theres the singular routine that handle all the modane boreing stuff that it needed for gathering and questing. if u want to raid or otherwise i guess u can just learn to drive for hand or make your own CR . Cheers
It's more about popularity. If I dev sees his project becomes super popular he snaps and makes it a paid plugin and claims the project is "using more time than they though to support" as a selling point. Since it takes about 5 months to be approved on the store though, it can be a bit tedious. Understand though that these plugins are not easy to continuously update and cater to everyone's needs.
garrison buttler is less then a f**** monthly wow subscription so what is your problem? i spend over 1k € on wow since the release just for the subscription.... if wow would be a free 2 play game i could understand if ppl complaining about a one time 8€ investment but whats going on here lately .....
People I think are just concerned like myself how long is a developer bound to updating? Can he disappear at any moment ? When the money stops rolling in can he abandon the project?
All it really takes is a little bit of searching to find the answers to your questions..... BosslandGmbH:Getting Started with the Buddy Store (as a User) - The Buddy Wiki And a little quote from that page:
There are many disadvantages to the store. Here are the ones I have issue with: 1) High cost - fair enough, devs deserve some recompense for their efforts but very little of the price paid actually goes to the developer. 2) Delay in fixes - updates could be pushed through svn immediately. We're frequently waiting for bugfixes for a day or two after they've been pushed to the store. 3) Lack of community - besides the inevitable trolls there is also the expectation that now code is paid for, it should be perfect and therefore logs and bug reports are no longer needed. 4) Obscurity - a lot of amateur coders in these forums started out by picking apart others' efforts seeing how they worked, adding new functionality or fixing bugs themselves. This is no longer a real option. Even editing mailing options in Kick's profiles can't be done through the store. Conversely, there are some advantages to the store as well: 1) Location - it's all in one place. No more hunting the interwebs for paid developments. Or it should be. Can somebody please beg, cajole, and grovel before Vitalic and Tuanha for their paid routines? 2) Updates - as an update becomes available, you get it. No more updating svn. 3) Security - code is checked by HB core devs to make sure it doesn't pass unauthorised information that may identify you and get you banned. 4) Reliability - devs are committed to providing updates for a minimum period. Just keep it reasonable and don't troll because *your* issue isn't immediately dealt with. I would ask devs to indicate on their products' first posts the current state of affairs (current buglist, items being worked on, dev downtime) to help keep trolling to a minimum. Chinajade has a good system for keeping us informed on core HB issues though I reckon the continuous archiving of posts is a hefty timesink. Just keep the users informed of the current state of affairs please.
When I bought Honorbuddy many years ago I was buying a program that promised me nothing more than the ability to quest automatically with little to know human interaction and I have since leveled hundreds of toons using this service. The program then added in the Dungeonbuddy feature, also free, and I have used it to level just as many toons as I did through questing. Between the two features, I have made many millions of gold which I have either used or sold for far more money than I spent on the program. In the past I have enjoyed fiddling with different plugins, botbases and combat routines, also all free, and have used dozens if not hundreds of free profiles and even written a few of my own based on the work of others who know far more than me. Honorbuddy made no promises to me other than the fact that I could level my toons with relative ease without much human interaction. In this they have fulfilled their promise over and over again. I look at the program from where it was back when I bought my first key during the LK expansion. I look at all the changes that have been made in the game itself over the years and how quickly HB has adapted to these changes. I tip my hat and raise a glass to the staff and developers of HB and to all of its forum contributors. you have exceeded my wildest expectations and if it were all to disappear tomorrow I would have no regrets knowing that I certainly received my money's worth. As for the subject of paid profiles/routines and so on...well, in this life you get what you pay for. I can quest and dungeon fine with Singular and have no issues with it but if I want to dominate in raids and so on without actually having to learn to play my class then I would look to a paid routine. I can quest from lvl 1 to 100 fine with the free profiles provided by HB. If I want to do special one of a kind things like solo old dungeons and so on I know that I may need to fork out a little cash to get a profile that works well and is maintained. I know how much time it took me to simply revamp a few older public profiles for private use. How in the hell some of the developers manage to do so much quality work in such little time I have no idea but I certainly know that I would like to see some monetary compensation for my work, especially if it is above and beyond the promises of the program. I thank the HB team and developers for giving us so much content above and beyond the promises of the program for so long. Now is a time for change. “Only those who are able to adapt to changing scenarios will continue to survive and prosper. Success is directly proportional to the degree of positive adaptation to change.”
Holy shit storm. It wasn't that big a deal just an observation. Just seems like everything on the internet is turning into micro transactions. No need to blow a gasket, people who wanna buy will those who don't will not.
